Definitely, my next choice would be...

Definitely, my next choice would be Beauty & the Beast (1991):

LOTS of great choices for favorite opening scenes.

I'd like to add 'L.A. Confidential'. The opening, where muckracking reporter Sid Hudgens (played by Danny Devito) gives his monologue about the glitz and glamour that gets people enamored of L.A. and tells us that all that is L.A. 'selling an image' helps perfectly set the tone for the rest of the movie. The use of Johnny Mercer's 'Accentuate the Positive' in that introduction (and reprised at the ending, which also involves a public image that's at odds with reality) greatly enhances the effect.

And just for fun, I'll add The Lego Batman Movie. "All important movies start with a black screen".

The Plaza of Execution from The Mask of Zorro. That had me on the edge of my seat as a kid in 97 or 98.

The majority might not agree, but a personal fave would be Josie & The Pussycats (2001):

    "Good-bye. Good luck. Good riddance."
