It's the difference between 'Tifa can use martial arts and limit breaks', and 'Tifa can use martial arts and limit breaks, auto-resurrect while causing massive damage around her, turn someone into a frog while simultaneously paralyzing, blinding, and muting them, and summon thirteen colossal knights who stab, slash, beat, burn, slam with meteors, and freeze the opponent for vast damage each attack. Twice, if the right materia is used.'

Or other combinations.

At this point, it's less about 'Tifa fights this guy' and more about 'what's the materia loadout, because it's basically the materia fighting this guy while Tifa takes selfies or something, due to ridiculous end-game gear'. ^_^

Even if we skip the insane end-game combinations and just go with the more powerful fire/lightning/ice/earth/healing materia, it means she's tossing out enormous gouts of flame, blanketing the area in lightning, etc, etc.

Let's say no Materia then, to keep the focus on the martial arts.

He managed to beat Ganondorf (which usually requires Holy Weapons of some sort), and Captain Falcon, Pit, and Min-Min. Oh and one of the Fire Emblem guys. They're usually pretty tough.

Kirby is an OP God though, so while Kazuya could throw him into a Volcano, Kirby was just fine and floated out.

So a rough summary of the final battle of Tekken 8. Kazuya at this point has absorbed Azazel and become Even More Devil Kazuya. (Officially called True Devil Kazuya)

Jin has accepted his devil powers

So Kazuya and Jin exchange blows, and Kazuya eventually decides "**** it" and powers up a big energy ball, which Jin claims will destroy the island they're fighting on. However Jin manages to unlock angel mode and deflect it into the ocean, wherere it causes a big explosion. Angel Jin and Even More Devil Kazuya exchange a few blows, and wind up over the water.

Then, for reasons I'm not super clear on, an eruption goes off underneath them. Both get smacked by a big piece of rubble that carries them into space, a la Kars from Jojo.

This piece of Rubble is big enough to fight on, so Jin and Kazuya do that as the rubble falls back to Earth. This results in a big moment where Jin and Kazuya's devil forms burn themselves out. So at this point Kazuya no long has any supernatural powers

So after the big de-deviling, the rubble they're fighting on keeps falling all the way back down to the earth. Once it's back on the ground, Kazuya and Jin get back up and keep beating the **** out of each other, which finally ends in a narrow victory for Jin

What would we consider Tifa's baseline to be?

I've always kinda taken for granted that would be her appearance in Advent Children, but how were her feats outside of gameplay in the Remake?

Before his upgrade, he was doing stuff like shooting lasers into space to .

Tekken 8 makes the speed feats of some characters much more explicit. Steve Fox can weave between automatic gunfire and Reina can swat pistol shots out of the air.

There is precedent for small arms fire being useless against a certain calibre of fighter, which was established when Heihachi caught a pistol round between his teeth in Tekken 6.

While this is ABC scaling, while fighters around their level can scratch Kazuya and Jin, they wouldn't be able to take them down.

Post power up, he is, as mentioned above, a low-level Dragonball character and much sillier.
