    Default Another Daniel Craig Bond?

Mainly a suggestion by Mads Mikkelsen, although with some precedent (Sean Connery returning to the role 3 times, although the second was 'unofficial' and the third was a video game adaptation of one of his movies)

Of course the big issue is that Bond dies at the end of "No Time to Die", which would mean he either somehow survived getting killed by missiles *and* somehow managed to either avoid Madeline and their daughter for the rest of his life or theirs or gets cured of Herakles all together.

The only other idea would be to have the film take place during his most active time presumably between Quantum of Solace and Skyfall (Which probably means no Q, Moneypenny, Mallory M or Blofeld except maybe cameos). Felix could return but Judi Dench has eye health issues so her M would have to be limited.

Probably never going to happen, but as Jeffrey Wright would say, What if?

^^^I don’t think this would break the Internet, but it’d def. rattle some windows. Still, ppl (including me) would line up for an untold tale, same way they always do.

If Craig really wanted to, maybe. Otherwise, the NTTD sequel I'd like to see is a Lashana Lynch / Ana De Armas movie.

It's not something we've seen much of Bond in apart from the James Bond Jr. Cartoons which were kind of a strange thing during the first Bond "Wilderness years" of 90-94. Bond's nephew (although he didn't have any siblings; now as for an actual Bond offspring, there's of course Matilde and the son from You Only Live Twice's novel)

Video games, on the other hand....Craig did a few including the original game Blood Stone but the other two, Goldeneye and Legends, had the somewhat strange decision to have him in adaptations of the other films but modernized to his era.

The latter feels like a cool approach. Craig was a reboot so doing a greatest hits version of old films could work as game tie ins.

Some untold adventures in animation or a video game would be cool, but his story came to a definitive end so I don't see any point to a new film. If it's an untold tale, the viewers would know he'll end up mostly okay and that some potential subplots are doomed (IE- any new romance.) Anything in another world gets confusing.

Plus Craig's getting boatloads of cash for Knives Out 3, which has less action scenes.
    Sincerely,

Mads Mikkelsen probably thinks James Bond pretending to die at the end of the last one was him being emasculated by woke cancel culture or some ****.

Chris Carter (X-Files) brought back the Cigarette Smoking man for S10&11 after a death by similar fashion. No explanation really, just that he did but the recovery wasn't easy.

Bond would find a way. PERIOD.

Well, he did survive being shot a few times and falling off a train/bridge hundreds of feet into water at the beginning of SKYFALL....

Yeah, the man is functionally immortal, and was even able to come back as a younger version of himself under the same M multiple times . The only issue he had to solve is the FOXDIE which he could probably beat by drinking poison mixed into vodka martinis.

The book Bond went through some really harsh tortures, survived a poisioning and an explosion but the last one left him amnesiac and presumed dead.

The latter one happens in YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE but then he winds up in Russia. At the beginning of the novel of Man With The Golden Gun, turns out he was brainwashed by the KGB to kill M. Although the attempt fails and Bond is deprogrammed, part of the mission is him trying to prove his worth. Skyfall kind of adapted part of the second bit of Bond trying to get back into things after being 'dead' but that's it.

Also the poisoning happens in FRWL (In the novel version, Tatiana isn't there to save him and he does gets stabbed by Klebb) and the DR.NO mission is meant to be an 'easy' one after Bond's recovery, as M thinks he just went AWOL with his secretary. In the movie of course M is much more serious about the whole thing, and although it's obviously not the Klebb poisioning, M does mention that Bond has been recovering, but instead of giving him the mission because of it he gives him the classic Walther instead of the Beretta which jammed.

It would make for an interesting opening credits, Bond seemingly going in for his normal briefing but turns out he's been brainwashed!

    Thought I'd put this here since it's my most recent Bond thread;

Pierce says Cillian Murphy would be a good Bond:

    https://www.indiewire.com/news/gener...nd-1234962065/

I can't really see it, personally, although he could work as a villain or even a new take on M or Q.

Also age is a factor, like with Elba he'd probably be in his 50s by the time the first film comes out, and I don't think they really want to have a Roger Moore situation where the actor gets too old, especially so soon (Roger at least had three films by the time he turned 50). Think they want an actor in his late 30s who can play the role for at least a decade and 3-5 films.

^Almost kind of what Diamonds Are Forever kind of did with OHMSS. Some have said that Bond's first visit being to Japan and the film's weird "diamond in a ring" joke are an attempt to pretend the last film never happened. Even Bond's hunt for Blofeld could be seen as just continuing YOLT.

However Spy Who Loved Me's club scene firmly mentions OHMSS as canon pretty much.
