Confirmed with teaser!
Holy mackerel! An in-production TV series sequel quickly repurposed as a movie?!
The '90s are back, baby!
Ironic toy story 2 started that way at first also!
Batman mask of the phantasm was a direct to video movie put on the big screen also!
Then again so was doug's first movie.
Edit--from the looks its plot was planned for a disney plus series/ mini series but they thought it was "too good" and changed it to a movie early on.
The exact same thing happened with toy story 2. Will this be as good? Beats me.

Seems desperate.
Especially with the live-action remake.

Nice. Sequels to successful movies are a good choice.

I enjoyed Moana but not sure it needs a sequel...especially one just repurposing their plans for a TV series.

^^^Yeah, I don’t see the big deal as to the source material as long as the end product is good.
On the flip side, the Tangled movie got a TV series that ran 60 episodes w. a long running plot and character development throughout, than no sequel movie could’ve done nearly as well.
I'm trying to think of scenarios they can go with Moana 2. The coconut pirates attacking her island? Moana becoming a queen? The first film didn't come across as "we have more to this world."

Man someone a few days ago here posted that Moana is still the most streamed movie And its 8 years old . And its not even close. If this thing is even half way decent its money in the bank.
