What is your opinion?
If it's just for cosmetics, no.
If there is a cool story moment where it provides value-added, yes.
Definitely not worth keeping for long periods of time.
I don't think he absolutely needs to have them. He's a web-slinger, not a glider, but they have been part of his design since the early years.
Say what you will about the overall quality or characterization of the MCU Spider-Man films, that they actually had Spider-Man using his web wings instead of them just being decoration --- and somewhat superfluous decoration, at that --- was a plus for me. Insomniac Games' Spider-Man 2 having them as a way of improving and speeding up traversal in the event of there being no tall buildings to swing from was good, too, in my view.
The spider is always on the hunt.
Bring them back before Miles steals them
Yes, I'm fine with them. Gliding, why not? Prevents him from constantly falling from tall heights. Like what recently happened with Vulture.
That's just it. If we're talking outside of comics, it's not a big deal to program it into a video game or produce it in a movie. You do it once and it's done.
For comics, the artist has to draw that over and over every issue. May seem minor, but if those wings were easy on the artists, you would see them consistently. And when you aren't actively using them for anything for years at a time, not surprising they don't stick around.
Other than the Vulture and maybe the various Goblins, Spidey doesn't spend a lot of time in open air for gliding.
Functional web-wings? No.
Web-pits where you have no idea what they actually do? Yes.
Never been a fan of them personally. They’ve just kinda been there as an aesthetic with no actual rhythm or reason. I find they’re more bearable when they serve a purpose as a gadget but not when they exist for nothing.

This pretty much sums up how I feel about web-pits whenever they pop up in the comics.
"Hey, look. The web-pits."
"I love the web-pits."
"What are the web-pits?"
"No idea."
BTW, I agree with the idea they are distracting. They should be used sparingly.
I think it might be impractical in the movies as well. I can see the wings potentially limiting the movement of the actors or the stunt doubles.
They have never used the Web-Wings in the movies outside of CGI scenes.
Some artists draw them better than others, and if an artist makes them look good, I'm fine with them.
However when I think about Spider-man, I think about him without them.
Na, its a relict from old times. I kinda liked them, but they are redundant.
And some artist can't draw them, so better not.
What I really loved is the web pack on his back.
