Default Favorite casual dishes your Mom (or Dad) used to make for you

List some casual dishes your Mom or Dad or Grandma, etc... used to make for you when you would ask. Maybe you were sick or they just knew you loved it.

    Mama's best for me:
    1. Vegetable soup with buttermilk biscuits
    2. Meatloaf sandwich with green onions
    3. Buttermilk pancakes
    4. Grilled cheese in an iron skillet with mayo
    5. Coconut pie

I loved when my momma would make Swiss Steak with Buttered Noodles and Sweet Cord with home made rolls.

    Gnocchis filled with jam.

My Grandma used to make a black berry cobbler that was out of this world. Haven't had it since she died decades ago.

My Mom would cook breaded chicken cutlets with corn and crescent rolls. I always looked forward to Thursdays when she would make that.

Lol, Grandma called it "Hogdog Stew". No one has ever heard of it. It is a Mediterranean thing, with some variations, but Grandma always made the best!

My mom would whip up an easy-bake lasagna with store-bought ravioli and spaghetti sauce that I liked more than the kind she spent hours on with homemade pasta and sauce. She was so annoyed the first time I complained, but then realized, 'this kid's easy, more time for mom'.

I loved grilled ham and cheese with tomato soup on a cold day, but when she made a Monte Cristo, that was a super-special day.

And I grew up that tomorrow is Pancake Tuesday (Canada). Could never go wrong with pancakes.
