    Default Combining Forces

Let's say that the big two companies agree that the comic book industry is dying. One way to save the business is for them to combine forces. However, unlike the Amalgam universe, this time they would break it into Earth-1 and Earth-616. What would these teams look like on each planet? Please feel free to mix and match as you like!

    Earth-1:

    The Justice League -
    The Defenders -
    The X-Force -
    The Global Guardians -

    Earth-616 has:

    The Avengers -
    The Fantastic Five -
The Omega Men or Annihilators (they're still working the name out...LOL) -
    The X-Men -

is the idea to keep DC characters to Earth 1 and Marvel to 616?

or mix and match at will?

    I would keep it simple.

Earth 1 would contain all of the characters that were created in real publication time prior to 1970. Everyone else goes to Earth 616.

So, Superman, Spider-Man, Batman, Wonder Woman, Black Panther, Thor, Dr. Fate, etc., all go to Earth 1, since they all were created before 1970.

Darkseid, Wolverine, Power Girl, She-Hulk, Spider-Woman, Quasar, Captain Marvel, Sentry, some modern Green Lanterns (John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, etc.), Doomsday, Starfire, Thanos, etc., all go to 616.

The publication date rule also applies to long-lived and/or retconned characters. So, a character like Apocalypse, who first appeared in print in the 1980s, would be on Earth 616.

The only exceptions to the publication rule would be for cosmic abstract beings and public domain characters or other properties licensed to the Marvel/DC. (Public Domain characters can be used on whichever Earth the creative team chooses at the time of publishing.)
