True. My sisters at the time were playing with Barbies, which did not interest me.

Definitely, my next choice would be Scrabble

I'd say a variant of this has to be the winner. The humble ball has been invented or imported by almost every culture archeologists have dug up, and it still sells.

I won’t deny I sucked at Scrabble, but, it was fun to play!

I wasn't always the best, but better than average. It certainly made me use the dictionary more often than I would have otherwise. It's kind of like what Jeopardy! has done to me - since I hate not knowing something, it has made me bone up on those categories I'm not as knowledgeable about.

That first came out around the time I got my first calculator, but I had a non-kiddie one:

Not a toy, but I treated it almost like one.

I had one. I drew Sqaure boobs on it and my friends were very impressed. I would like to say I did this as a child but I was 17 at the time.

Ah! I was too old for that when it came out. The only Godzilla when I was a kid was the Aurora glow-in-the-dark model that was a part of that company's monster lineup (Frankenstein, the Wolf Man, Dracula, etc.)
