    Default Creat a government-controlled JLA-class team

Since DC has this tendency to try and make the Suicide Squad a JLA level team and fans keep rejecting it, what team would you have the government have that could get into conflict with the JLA instead? Existing team or new one? Name for the team? Members to fill it in? Let's discuss.

I've been thinking about this FOREVER and amazed (not really) that DC hasnt done a government JLA. Esp in a world with no JL??????

The goverment would totally name them Justice League of America. But if we dont do that name... Justice Guild of America. (its just collecting dust)

    1. Lady Liberty
    2. Captain Atom
    3. Slade (wild card)
    4. Phantom Lady
    5. Red Arrow (controversial but...idk, I could see Roy trying it out for a bit)
    6. Hourman
    7. Liberty Bell
    8. Atom Smasher

    I'd also add COmmander Steele

He worked for Checkmate in the Pre-Flashpoint era. There's already precedent.

    Interesting concept for a post.

The name of my group would be called the Justice Agents. It would be a joint collaboration between the Justice Department, Department of Defense and Homeland Security.

    Captain Atom
    Commander Steel
    Hawkman
    Bronze Tiger
    Vibe
    Guy Gardner
    Agent Liberty
    Miss America

Just so long as people would have to enter requests for help on a poorly functionining web site And the team functioned with the efficiency, Ethics and compeience if most of our Goverment offices and agencies, I read the heck out of it.

I'd probably do a version of the JLU Super Friend analogues that work with Captain Atom and SpySmasher.

So it's gonna be Captain Atom, SpySmasher, Longshadow, Wind Dragon, Shifter and Downpour with Annisa Pierce instead of Juice and Yara Flor.

Force of July – A new U.S. Government Task Force assembled to defend America’s interests when other more global-minded super-hero teams, such as the Justice League, don’t put them first. A powerful team compromised of loyal government agents, well-paid contractors and even pardoned meta-humans with a criminal record. Answering to DOD handler Gen. Synge, and NSA liaison, Heather Burke, the team can count with impressive resources and a vast number of support personnel. Among the major threats they face are the reorganized Russian People’s Heroes and China’s Great Ten. The Force of July also deals with homegrown terrorists. They are:

Spy Smasher – Katarina Armstrong. The high-ranking anti-terrorist agent is the assigned leader of the team. Ruthless and determined, Katrina is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant, an exceptional markswoman, a prodigal scientist and inventor and a master detective. However, she is not an inspiring and charismatic leader, and that brings problems to the team.
Technocrat 2025 – With his company in financial trouble, Geoffrey Baron not only offers his latest and greatest security technology marvel to the U.S. Government, but is also recruited to pilot it. One of the world’s leading engineers, Baron encased in the high-tech armored suit, with its vast array of advanced weaponry, is an asset to the team.
Ironfire – U.S. Airforce Captain Martin Allard was captured by the terrorist Ghost, brainwashed and submitted to a quantum experiment that gave him the ability to shift between a powerful energy force-field that disintegrated almost everything it touched, and allowed him to fly, and a tough rocky form with great strength, so much strength that he could barely control and finetune it. As a downside, while he could shift between forms, he could not turn his powers off, making him incapable of having any kind of meaningful interaction with other human beings. The Airforce was able to recapture Allard, reverse his brainwashing, and give him a special suit that allowed him to turn off his powers, making it possible for him to have a minimum of human contact while wearing the suit. Now, his is able to assume only one of his forms at a time, instead of mixing them, as he was able to do before. Arguably one of the team’s heaviest hitters, Ironfire’s teammates don’t trust him very much, fearing his emotional instability, and wondering if the reversal of the brainwashing really took.
Psi – Gayle Marsh. Retrieved barely alive after a suicide mission in Nicaragua, Psi was slowly treated back to health by A.R.G.U.S., and, while her memory is still spotty, in gratitude, she agreed to serve the U.S. in the Force of July. Although meek in personality, Psi exhibits a vast array of powerful mental abilities, such as telepathy, telekinesis, illusion casting, levitation and others.
Argus – Former FBI agent Nick Kovak was happily enjoying his retirement when he was strongarmed by A.R.G.U.S., the organization that his own previous super-hero identity had inspired, to once again don his mask and join the federal strike-force. Experienced and level-headed, Kovak actually becomes a challenge to Spy-Smasher’s leadership. Argus has enhanced senses and physical attributes, a fast-healing factor, and the ability to shadow meld, making him completely invisible in the shadows.
Aura – Always a trouble-maker, Chinese-American Lindsay Wah is blackmailed to join the Force of July in exchange for a clean record. A rebel by nature, Aura obviously doesn’t get along well with Spy-Smasher and, instead, is more loyal to Argus, which she truly admires. Lindsay also becomes a good friend to the shy Psi. Control of magnetic fields.
Triumph – Failed super-hero Will McIntyre was actually sprung from jail to join the Force of July. Though believing he is, by far, the best qualified to lead, he reluctantly accepts Spy-Smasher as team-leader, keeping his ego in check and grateful for a second chance. However, his relationship with her, and with the rest of the team, is not always the most harmonious. His mastery of the electromagnetic spectrum gives Triumph a vast array of physical abilities, such as super-strength, some invulnerability, flight, energy absorption and release, etc…
Agent Liberty – Not much is known about Agent Liberty, he is rumored to be Ben Lockwood, a former member of a C.I.A. anti-terrorist group who was believed to be dead. A highly trained combatant, the Agent is proficient with various firearms and wears a high-tech suit that allows him to fly and generate a personal force-field.

    Peace

I wanted to have a few characters that wouldn't toe the line. Plus she's a new character with few stories under her belt. I wanted to bolster her character. So having her speak truth to power even if it's just to surrogates like SpySmasher would be fun.

    STAR SAPPHIRE
When the Govt. wants a villain OR hero to receive a legendary beatdown, she and her team will deliver just that.

    ENCHANTRESS
Other than her choice of costume color, Star Sapphire has no issues w. Enchantress, who brings the magical muscle.

    STEPPENWOLF
Oh how the mighty have fallen. Being reduced to the ”big guy” on an Earthbound team of Govt. agents is big step down from Steppenwolf’s usual status. Still, even Gods need to make a buck.

    AMAZO, GIZMO
The self aware Amazo and the self serving Gizmo work remarkably well together on the tech side of things. In return for hiding behind Amazo when things get rough, Gizmo performs routine maintenance and upgrades on the android.

    BLOODSPORT, RED LION
Despite hating eachother on sight, the white supremacist and the African despot have found common ground in cold blooded murder and mayhem. The two are incredibly deadly in their own unique ways.

    MANITOU RAVEN & MANITOU DAWN
The husband and wife team are powerful mystics w. differing styles of darkness and light.

    THE ATOM
