Not lovers, she was his fiance if memory serves. The one that he forgot all about.
Not gonna lie. That one line about Britain made me want her to have a title in the new era leading an X-Corp team or co-leading. They should definitely give us a X-Corp/Rescue Squad.
That would be a sick base and they can globe trot in it.
This should have been a series instead of Realm and I’ll go as far as saying the current Cable mini (because I’m not sure what it has to do with anything)
I love the idea and the base really is neat. Truthfully I don't know how she'll be able to come back from what happened at the prison. This is really the first time tension between her and the British authorities turned violent. They're fully blaming her, Shatterstar and Rictor for setting the facility on fire and I can picture the headlines. Mutant Captain Britain escapes with mutant prisoners leaving a trail of dead bodies behind. The first responders didn't see the Externals so they're going to easily assume her team killed all the guards. It narratively made sense when she said, "I think it's best we say goodbye to Britain" and I agree with her.

Krakoa, Arakko, and Otherworld forever!
This recap is making me want a new Uncanny X-Force with Betsy, Kwannon, Moonstar, and Thunderbird on it.
It would be interesting if Betsy said she didn't want it anymore because of how she and mutants are being treated and Brian is like, "I'm enjoying being a family man and raising my daughter like I've always wanted, plus my whole family are mutants. I don't want it either." Then Jamie appears and says, "I'll take it!" LOL

This was another pitch-perfect issue. The Steves have a great sense of pacing and are making the most of the format and the pages they have available - changing focus characters and scenery every few pages really gives you the impression of a meaty story.
I really adored Shatterstar and Rictor here - although I hope one of the healers does away with that nasty burn on Julio's face. Betsy was just wonderful and the way she used her butterflies as shields was just too cool for words. I have to wonder if the Steves are setting her up to leave the Captain Britain mantle considering her comments on this issue - and we know she's appearing in her Disassembled costume in Dead X-Men #3...
