Yeah, I read Martian Manhunter, and several JL story arcs that had to do with Martian stuff back in the day.... the idea was weird... at best.

'cause the old Martian Manhunter stories established that Martians had such drastically different biology than Humans (and most other races) that doesn't really work. Saturnians, who were created by Martians, were supposedly the only race similar enough.

to a certain extent I expected it. They seeded the idea she's not really related to J'onn early and that raised the doubt of "if she's lying about her origin, then what's the truth?" And everyone who knows DC Martians knew the look she wore wasn't her true form, since J'Onn doesn't use his real form either.

J'onn is so incredibly powerful and awsone that the are always having to find stupid ways to hinder him, so that he doesn't overshadow everyone else. I loved it when he wiped the floor with Ultraman in Earth 2 GN.
