Kind of interesting here. Not only does it change the tone a bit of SW's most famous scene, but it kind of has an alternate theme for Luke to a degree as well, whereas pretty much in the film's Luke's theme is pretty much synonymous with the main theme but there are traces of it in there (Such as when the escape pod reaches Tatooine's surface). You see this in some of his other films, In Last Crusade he had a theme written for Henry Jones Sr but it's barely used in the actual film (With the motorcycle chase music mostly being used instead) and Qui-Gon's theme music in TPM is also barely used in the final cut.
The scene in general seems to have a slightly more haunting "Jerry Goldsmith" feel to it in a few ways (Think in general Goldsmith did more horror than Williams, that's probably why).
