That's funny - I mean, isn't "Zapped" just a horny teenboy version of "Carrie" anyway? Full circle, I guess.

    Horror versions of:
    - Weekend at Bernie's
    - Mannequin
    - Porky's: Remember the shower scene? Add a little guillotine - horror movie.
    - Caddy Shack, where the Bill Murray character is a serial killer.
    - Meatballs, where the Bill Murray character is a serial killer.

I could see Mannequin perhaps being a mix of a mummy movie (Since the character's basically an Egyptian princess stuck in a mannequin?) and the Autons from Doctor Who.

Although "Night at the Museum" sort of has a similar concept, just not horror. So I guess that could become a horror movie as well.

Funny thing about the Mrs. Doubtfire trailer, Robin Williams did dabble a bit into psychological horror/thrillers for a while in the early 00s, before going back to comedy and the occasional drama in the mid 00s.

Comedy is terror and pain and misery. Any comedy can be a horror movie. Sometimes it's as simple as changing the score.

How about a horror take on Weekend at Bernies 2, where Bernie is a more traditional zombie.

You know what could be fun? Ghostbusters as a straight horror movie.

There is definitely a similar vein in the two genres. Comedy, in its most basic terms, comes about from outcomes that subvert the expectations of a situation and similarly horror is when the outcome of a situation takes a darker turn than expected.

For my switch I'd say a take on Groundhogs day where the person gets more sadistic or constantly has some new death inflicted upon them.

Some Like It Hot- Works either way if there's a nasty hitman chasing the Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis characters, or if they're the bad guys (maybe hiding in a girls band because they're responsible for the gangland massacre.)

Withnail and I- What if Withnail was more messed up?

When Harry Met Sally- Add the slow realization that one of them is a serial killer.

Wayne's World- Basically American Psycho with public-access television

Sister Act- Serial killer pretends to be a nun.

Raising Arizona- Cult members kidnap a baby.

The Producers- They decide to kill some people to make the play flop.

The Princess Bride- Same story with a Game of Thrones tone.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles- Slow dawning between two unlikely travelling companions that one of them is a psycho.

The Philadelphia Story- The rich family practices human sacrifices.

Office Space- Milton does some bad things.

The Odd Couple- Guy gets a weird roommate, who is a cultist.

Animal House- Turns out a college frat worships the devil.

Meet the Parents- The scary potential father-in-law is an alien.

Legally Blonde- Naive Californian realizes she's working for a murder cult.

It Happened One Night- Heiress meets serial killer, or journalist discovers he's a human sacrifice.
    Sincerely,
    Thomas Mets

There haven't been any fresh ones for over a decade, but TR1MUSIC turned clips from Seinfeld into trailers for various movies, including horror:

The actual show isn't actually that far off at times-the selfish behavior of the leads ruins several lives of course (and even leads to a few deaths).

Coming To America as a slasher film.

Prince Hakeem is the Big Bad killing all the women in New York as part of Zamunda tradition, with Lisa McDowell being the final girl.

Blumhouse has already been on this. They made 2 Happy Death Day movies about remaking Groundhogs Day as a slasher, and Freaky was Freaky Friday but slasher.

Animal House - the decadent members of a strange fraternity terrorize the campus and the surrounding town.

Alot of the gags could work as horror if you just played them straight. You got the strange rituals, the sexual depravity, vandalism, animal abuse, and violence.

    Oh! And alcoholism!

Different strokes as a get out type film.
Everyone dies at the end. Except Willis
