He created the style guide that DC used for almost all merchandise in the early '80s. Arguably DC as a whole is his iconic run.
Last Read: Aquaman & The Flash: Voidsong

Monthly Pull List: Alan Scott: The Green Lantern, Birds of Prey, Daredevil, Geiger, Green Arrow, Justice Ducks, Justice Society of America, Negaduck, Nightwing, Phantom Road, Shazam!, Suicide Squad: Dream Team, Thundercats, Titans

    Yas!
José Luis García López may not be the "first" name associated with DC art as a whole, but to me, he is the well from which all the DC artists that followed him sprung, stylistically speaking.

Speaking of which, from all the names that I eternally associate with "DC Comics art," my five faves (in no particular order) will always be:

    • José Luis García López

    • Jill Thompson

    • George Pérez

    • Cary Bates

    • Jim Aparo

Action Comics, DC Comics Presents, Atari Force, The New Teen Titans, etc... And various specials. Due to his high demand for the comercial area, he mostly limited himself to covers, occasional issues and small arcs, however, his body of work is actually much larger than most people believe.

    Peace

Jim Aparo is another master who, IMHO, doesn't get the recognition he deserves.

In agreement with the majority, Dan Mora is truly becoming legendary (IMHO):
