I agree. Jackson was angry because she was forced to turn down Meryl Streep's role in Kramer vs Kramer because Aaron Spelling wouldn't shoot around the film. Plus, she didn't care for Cheryl Ladd, so she left.

Well, the way I understood it was they got rid of her because of her disruptive behavior. She might have forced their hand, but they fired her. Might have not heard it right.

Grace Lee Whitney who played Yeoman Rand in the first season of Star Trek (and appeared in very early marketing as the female lead), although it's a bit unclear what the true story of her firing was. (She later returned for cameos in a few of the movies).


Similarly Gates Mcfadden was fired by Maurice Hurley who co-ran early TNG who disliked the Dr.Crusher character and Gates's creative input. When Hurley left in season 2 Gates was invited back for the rest of the show.

The story was that Cosby told Payne not to shave his hair off or not to get a certain haircut and Payne did it anyway. Cosby was not happy about it and fired him.
