He's back in the news. As it's been known he's had some struggles in the years since TPM.

If he does return, it probably won't be as Anakin since Hayden pretty much has a monopoly on the older version-light side, maskless Vader and force ghost.

And he's obviously too old for a teen Anakin in the mostly untold in-between TPM and AOTC era, unless they want to deep fake a bit.

Although Anakin had no father and of course the line is kind of broken apart from Rey taking it at the end of ROS, what about going through Shmi's line, perhaps to the High Republic days? An ancestor of Anakin's who has a resemblance to him? I know it's a bit "Star Trek" (With all the Brent Spiner Data relatives) or Back to the Future (With Michael J Fox playing both Marty's ancestors and kids)

This might be a long shot and small universe, but in the Disney canon "Skywalker" is also a Chiss term for force-sensitive navigators, although I think it's mainly a term used as a coincidence (and I think Zahn was kind of stuck with using it). Still, perhaps an ancestor during the High Republic, who would be played by Lloyd, would come across this and name his family after it?

You did read that “article” didn’t you? His mother says she
left the door open for him to return if he gets better. I don’t think she has any weight when it comes to casting. I love these articles that state things like, “Jake Loyd might return to Star Wars.” 🙄 He might because his mom said she left the door open for his return if he gets better.
