Even in an advanced civilization like vanished Krypton, criminals were a superstitious lot, at least before COIE. Phantom Zone escapee Ras-Krom hoped paying hommage to this Kryptonian Demon would help him defeat Superman(Superman #164 Oct 1963). I couldn't find any pictures of it online though.
