So much talking....with no Sovereign narrative!
This feels weird.
I love Sampere but this definitely makes me appreciate him more.
Yeah March is quite the change from Sampere. For me it kinda was to big of a change.
This is nice, but strange. It was one thing for Diana to go and grant the wish of a dying little boy in the midst of a war against the Amazons. But to leave the Earth to go get a birthday present for Bruce while her Amazon sisters are being murdered in cold blood? That just seems completely irresponsible. Especially for the Princess of a nation. It's giving very Condoleeza Rice shopping for shoes as Hurricane Katrina drowned New Orleans.
Author of the Instant New York Times bestselling novel, The Prophets, from G.P. Putnman's Sons.
I don't think I would have minded this as much if it was an annual issue, but in the ongoing i just don't vibe with it.
This issue's pretty much a filler so Sampere has time to do the rest of the Sovereign arc, I'm not gonna get too worked up over it's placement in the timeline.
Does have poor timing coming the day after ''WB and Gunn got no plans for WW'' news drop though.
Wow, this makes me admire Sampere's art even more. I had already gotten used to seeing that level in the main series.
I'm not really that interested in what happens in this issue, if it needed a filler, I would have liked a story with Artemis or a villain like Dr. Poison, Blue Snowman or Clea.
It's actually impressive how King has managed to make Diana as insufferable and awkward as he possibly can without even meaning to. At least it explains why Trinity is also so unlikable so it ties up everything if nothing else.
Also, can we please stop defining Wonder Woman in terms of how she differs from Superman and Batman. Superman sees the best, Batman sees the worst and she sees the reality. It's not even thoughtful enough to make up for it. Just making Diana the middle point between these two, yay!
I could do without the blurb that this takes place after #5, because it does kill the urgency of the opening arc more than it already has been at times.
Other than that, this looks cute. I hope for some deep cut cameos of space characters from both WW and SM (Uvo from Uranus would be perfect)
