I think that is what some fans expected, as they were introduced so suddenly, with no real purpose.
Though with the current changes of the X-Office and writers teams, these Latverian mutants will soon be forgotten.

I have a feeling they’re gonna take their time drip feeding us. With Exceptional X-Men not coming out till early September, the line might not be expanding until we’re into fall. Gives them a LOT of runway to take their time w/ announcements.
