Better hurry before he goes public domain next year giving us more crappy cheap horror movies with popeye.
I think despite being a pretty big flop the Robin Williams version is kind of a cult classic/has it's fans?

For a sec I thought it said, "Popeye the Sailor Moon" - that'd be interesting... (I can really picture the spinach-induced anime powerup sequence)
1980 movie budget--$20m.I think despite being a pretty big flop the Robin Williams version is kind of a cult classic/has it's fans?
Made $60m!
It was not a bomb! Crazy huh as we been told it was for decades, but it made its money back and more!
In fact, the filming area is still a tourist spot.

Unless Jason Statham plays Popeye, Gal Gadot plays Olive Oil, Dave Bautista plays Brutus, and John Goodman plays Wellington Wimpy, I might not be interested.
They should've just released the Gendy Tartakovksy animated movie.
The sony animated movie did leak so its online if you look for it.
Also wonder if they would go after jack black to play bluto?

Jason Statham as live action Popeye is the casting I didn’t know I needed.
