I think they need to concentrate on what makes him so different than other bricks. He's been trained in H2H and battle tactics by Cyclops and Wolverine. He's been shown (rarely, but still) that he is far more agile than any other brick.

They need to give Colossus some joy in his life. He was forced to kill at a young age, his parents were gunned down, his brother took his own life, he was forced to watch his sister slowly die, he sacrificed his own life to cure AIDS, and became the avatar of a demonic god. Jeezy creezy, how does this guy get out of bed in the morning?

Give Colossus more Leadership roles maybe make Colossus the Team Leader of The Amazing X-Men or be the Headmaster of Jean Grey School since Wolverine going to die soon.

How about giving him the joy of being a force for the X-men? Let him be an opponent to be reckined with and not just a walking bullet proof vest for the rest of the team
