Didn't they just do this story with Peter and Norman's sins?
Why resolve that, then come back around to this later?
I'm so glad I'm not reading this book, lol. This is FAR, FAR AND AWAY the worst run of Spider-Man since I started following the character reading. I started with the Clone Saga, for reference. This makes the Mackie run look positively brilliant by comparison.
Okay, here's my theory
This is another Rusenberg situation. Wells is burning everything down, so the next status quo can fix it. Like it will be revealed that Aunt May is the very first Spider-Person, and she'll she bring the entire cast of Spider-Man to Manhattan Island to they form their own nation.
Has anyone pointed out that it’s hard to take a “the hero goes bad” story seriously if the hero has gotten an embarrassing ass beating in every storyline for 50 issues? Like “oh no the Spider Goblin is here causing trouble! I hope a stiff breeze kicks up to put an end to his terror spree!”

Are you all ready for the spider-man who gobbles??
Man, looking at that cover, I picked a terrible time to quit drinking.
Peter is upgrading Gobble levels like different Super Saiyan levels, he’s already done Gobble level 1 where he’s just more evil, this seems like Gobble level 2 where he fully adopts the Goblin persona
I just think it really called for this
Discovering/CONFESSING! the nature of evil... one retcon at a time.
I......
They know that they don't have to try to entice us to get Ultimate Spider-Man, right? That we're going to do that anyway, right?
And didn't they do this like two arcs ago?
God, this seriously has to be the worst Spider-Man run ever....
