Maybe he could get one of the ancillary titles, but to be honest I haven’t read anything good by him in ages.
It’s weird because I grew up reading back issues of his classic runs while at the same time seeing him completely lose it with titles like New Excalibur and New Exiles.

I've said for years as a plotter or editor sure, but his time has passed as a writer for the current franchise without him essentially returning things to a place these characters have outgrown. An overseer to ensure that continuity and the core of the character are kept YES, hell the movies, cartoons, and video games deathly need him but again his recent runs over the last 20 years demonstrate why this isn't the best idea.

I think Mr Claremont has earned the right to do what pleases him. Back then, he took over a franchise that was dwindled and was free to do what he wanted.

It’s true that X-Men ‘97 has very Claremontian writing, but this actually proves that Lord Claremont doesn’t need to come back, as new writers like Beau DeMayo and his team are perfectly capable of creating the kind of melodramatic soap opera we love from our Merry Mutants. Unfortunately, Lord Claremont has never seemed to be able to get over being forced off the books in the early 90s and other writers taking over. Marvel is a business and I think it’s actually a massive shame he accepted the golden handcuffs of his exclusivity contract, as he could almost certainly have produced an awesome Indie series in the last couple of decades, building new characters and ideas from scratch that he actually had ownership over.

How is Sunspot whitewashed? He is a Pardo Brazilian meaning he is a Mixed-race Brazilian. Roberto has an African-Brazilian fafter and a European-American mother. Unless you are referring to his voice actor. ( who is Brazilian like Sunspot). Many Brazilians approve of the voice actor and have shown their appreciation for him. They have no problem with the casting.
