How else to call a collection of people collectively defined by their super powers which are entirely random, both in terms of effects and expression and magntitude which can apparently range from having twice as long fingers as normal to being able turning the entire universe into jello by sneezing.

Though a dilema might also be appropiate.

An orgy seems like a good alternative. Especially with the powers you described.

It's funny you mentioned that because I've been thinking about Cullen Bunn's original pitch for Uncanny X-Men since this announcement. He wanted to make Betsy Captain Britain.

In 2015, I was asked to take over UNCANNY X-MEN. We all know that yielded the Magneto-led team. My first pitch, however, was a cosmic team with Rachel Summers in charge and a new Captain Britain. My pal @brihurtt even worked up a few concepts. Take a look!

I'm glad. That said, I know this isn't a popular opinion, but I hope Betsy isn't Captain Britain anymore. Not because I want Brian to have the mantle (I really don't care), but because the Betsy I love doesn't fight for a flag or for Otherworld.

I completely agree with you. I’m hoping for a whole new chapter in Betsy’s life. And a uniform similar to the Disassembled one.

Also, I don’t live her and Rachel as a couple but as long as we have a good writer that gets her, I’m down for everything.

I want her to stop being CB also. Change her name to Coerce instead of Psylocke.

Psyche would be a perfect new codename for her. In Greek mythology Psyche was the goddess of the soul, often depicted with butterfly wings (butterflies were seen as the embodiment of the soul). I know Dani had the name for a hot minute, but who cares.

I don't much care for how her hair is drawn here but this is a look that works really well for me. It's slick, practical but still sexy and good blend of "Psylocke" and "Captain Britain".

Ok with the Dave Marquez variant maybe some of you were right about the Phoenix book but that would be such a bummer because the redheads would get all the love in that title.

I really disliked that Rachel Summers / Betsy Braddock design so I'm kind of glad it didnt get approved.

So maybe theyll stagger out the remaining titles to those two dates.

I guess my thing is that there were complaints about her during Krakoa (but there are always complaints for every character during every era) and the middle book getting turned into a mini but nothing really changed. Other characters went to different writers so it was easier to tell if the complaint was the writer or the direction but not for Betsy.

I honestly think Knights of X getting turned into a mini was part of Marvel’s shift in priorities towards publishing minis in general.

That being said, I don’t think Knights of X was very good. Which was a shame, because I really liked Excalibur before that.

Knights had some cool moments but I'll admit I have very few memories of it.

Yeah, I think my problems with KoX is that 10 characters is too many for any cast, and also I didn’t think Bob Quinn’s art suited the premise. Captain Britain had the balance right.
