Wonder if Bariss figures out that Vader is Anakin and he kills her because of it, even if she passes the test. (She doesn't seem to be among the Inquisitor groups we've seen in other pre-ANH media) At least early on Vader is extremely protective of the information and often kills those who figure it out.

Elsbeth is a bore but at least I have my Barriss Offee back and surprisingly as an Inquisitor.

I hope this isn't just another hanging thread where a female jedi character's story is quickly closed with having Vader kill her like they had Dooku kill Yaddle.

I excited for Bariss' story to continue but I do worry about her being killed to close off her story here. Just because it is kind of weird to build her up as part of the Inquisitors but she was never encountered in all of Rebels?

There is a chance maybe they are revealing this now because a potential Ahsoka season 2 or something might have Bariss as an antagonist and this is leading to that reveal, but then they have to come up with reasons for Bariss to still be an inquisitor so much later.

It is not a coincidence that the focus is on Ahsoka's 2 primary antagonists. Bariss is the ghost of her past and the reason she left the Jedi Order, and Morgan was the primary antagonist of Ahsoka season 1 and the final boss she faced there.

It'd be a better story if she was actually the one that hunted down Luminara and killed her and brought her body to the Inquisitor to be used as bait for the other Jedi.

Honestly I don't know how I want Barriss' story to go. Should she go fully dark side or pretending to be dark just to survive?

That looked pretty good to me, and more development of Elsbeth sounds like a good idea.

Wonder if they'd use the same actress from AOTC, Nalani Krishan. She does a lot of the SW convention circuit.

Seen the first half so far.

The Elsbeth trilogy was pretty good, pretty much sets things up for the Mandalorian episode. That's Katee as Bo-Katan who receives the distress signal at the end.

We get the "good" Dathomirian witches, who were in the original "Courtship of Princess Leia" novels and other old EU, but haven't been seen that much in Disney canon outside a Clone Wars anthology novel.

The second episode is the most we've seen of Palleon associated with Thrawn and Rukh in Disney I think, a lot of his EU friendship with Thrawn was kind of taken over by the Eli Vanto character although Palleon was still part of his group, just mostly off-screen/page. Also reveals Elsbeth designed the Defenders. Not sure if it was Xander Berkeley.

On aside, I always found it kind of interesting that while most sources go with the artistic portrayal of Palleon as a perpetually middle-aged or elderly mustached man, the Dark Horse comic adaptation of the Thrawn trilogy went with a clean-shaven George C. Scott or Lawrence Tierney style likeness.

The Barriss episodes are kind of OK, she pretty much lasts as an inquisitor less than one mission, redeems herself by saving a Jedi and then becomes a Jedi hermit/healer before Fourth Sister comes back for her some point after the Obi-Wan show.

Although it's left hanging, It's probable that Lyn is also redeemed, at one point her armor eventually winds up with a Rebel character in Vader's castle.

The title of the series a bit of a misnomer-The Empire really doesn't do much except for the second and fourth episodes (There's even one story set during the New Republic!)

Tales of the Dark Side would've been more fitting, but probably sounds a bit too much like the 1990 non-Star Wars horror anthology TV series and movie, Tales From the Darkside.

Yaddle and now Barriss. As much as I enjoyed Offee's story I'm annoyed that she was killed but maybe she will survive like Reva did

Morgan's story was pointless background padding for character is already dead.
