The classic Phoenix costume was designed by Dave Cockrum...unless you are referring to something Byrne did later.

I'm concerned for the series as I've not read much positive about the writer and the artist's work from X-MEN ANNUAL #1 doesn't foster cosmic hope...

Still not sure I will by any x-men comics after Krakoa
It feels not really fresh so far.

I Love the idea Jean finally being cosmic again. But it feels sooo anticlimactic that we just saw her in two comics as a multiversal Phoenix entity. It takes away from this revelation in my eyes. It will be interesting to see if they can make her stand out besides Captain Marvel or Silver Surfer. It feels a little bit “been there done that” (but with a different character). It also doesn’t help that we just had a Phoenix book with Echo.

Hope it sells. But I’m not excited yet, also I should as Phoenix fan no. 1.

Dislike the costume. So far, all new costumes for the new era are awful or boring in my eyes

Lets be real. That book was irrelevant and X-Fans werent reading it for it to be something that makes this book feel like a retread of anything

The main thing this title is saddled with is really obvious...

Any "Cosmic..." X title that has to follow S.W.O.R.D/X-Men Red?

    Good luck.

    You will be needing it.

I feel bad that Echo got saddled with it cause when she finally got a new book it was all about the Phoenix instead of herself.

All because of Jason Aaron's total obsession with the fire chicken and constantly grafting it to other characters like the whole Thor fiasco.

Okay I'll try to be optimistic here because its better to hope and get a good book in the end.

Yes Rogue and Gambit was not a very good book but that is only one book, Philips has written other stuff. She has an indie series called GRIM, apparently I hear its good, and she did write 27 issues of Harley Quinn that focused on the character actually improving herself and trying to be a better person.

At the very least I was discussing with a friend who told me that there are people celebrating Philips announcement so it looks like she does have fans indicating her writing is good enough to make fans.

I don't like this idea from the moment rumors came about her going to space, seeing these solicits this proves my point. Unless cosmic comics are team books and written by prominent writers, they cant turn out good. Some exceptions for good solo books are there of course but very few can pull it off.
