Oh and I can't look at that logo without thinking about the Phoenix Ultraverse book:
I haven't read anything by either the writer or artist, so I don't know what else to think besides just being happy that this happening. Looking at the artist's insta I like his style though, it feels similar to RB Silva imo. Cover looks pretty cool, thugh the perspective is a bit weird.
I'm intrigued by this part of the article teasing what's happening in the end of Rise and Forever: "What shocking metamorphosis occurs that leads to her adopting a new costume and taking to the stars as the Phoenix?"... I wonder if the costume is supposed to have a meaning since they mentioned it.
I don't mind Phillips' writing but at the same time I am hesitant. That is, she is more than capable and I find her characters to be well written but I do find that her story telling can be weak. What I am mostly waiting to see is how much this book relies on a supporting cast of new characters and if they are tolerable at least.
The artist is also fine and I hope will surprise people who have not come across previous works.
I'm happy if she stays far away from Earth.
The X-men are already done with Phoenix stories.
It's too bad we rotate uniforms so quickly now.
I was trying to do too much and not doing any of it as well as I could. But I've had a change of mind... though not everyone shall enjoy it. I will.

This so-called problem of too many "Phoenix stories" that people complain about has never had anything to do with Jean just being Phoenix and having that as her status-quo. New X-Men by Morrison, or even the original run from X-Men #101 onwards? Highly acclaimed periods. The bullshit starts when they separate Jean from it and start using as a plot device and giving it to a bunch of other characters like on AvX, Secret Wars, Aaron's Avengers, Thor, the teen Jean solo unfortunately, etc.
Even if she's on earth, if they can just have the Phoenix be a part of her instead of something to make an issue out of, there's no reason why that couldn't work. It has been done before.
I'll give it a try, but this sort of "ongoing" solo book often seems to end up as a mini or maxi series at best.
I have no previous experience involving Stephanie Phillips and her work, so I'll let the first issues speak for themselves.
I like the new costume.
Concept sounds great! Its what some of us have been waiting on for years and years (perhaps decades lol).
After Morrison's run, Jean should have been allowed to simply be Phoenix on the cosmic stage.
Stephanie seems to understand Jean/Phoenix judging from the article.
Uhh the writer and the artist choices aren’t encouraging
Wish it was RB Silva. He’s great with cosmic type art.
Also didn’t someone here said that Philipps had to make changes in her pitch for that book because it wasn’t cosmic enough ?
Btw Philips also wrote contest of chaos

Will definitely give this a shot but as said that Rogue/Gambit book by the same writer was not good. I stopped reading after issue three but got all the issues because i had subscribed.

It just feels sad that she's alone.
