They didn't appear because they don't have a big fan base? Did you even SEE the cast of X-Men First Class?

Do you even read the comics? 1 or 2 books center on Cyclops at any given time (and there are even 2 of them now)...the franchise hardly revolves around him...compared to the dozen or so that feature Wolverine at any given time and even the massive event they're making out of his death and the aftermath (and you can bet he'll continue appearing in the books the whole time he's "dead").

The problem isn't just the amount of screen time in the movies...it's the character's treatment...Cyclops was trivialized in the movies the whole time only to get killed off in the most insulting way possible...I actually would have preferred he never appear in the movies at all to what they did with him there.

Mystique, Professor X, Magneto, Banshee, Beast, Havok.

Are you trying to compare those characters to Maggot?

She was front and center in the books when the movies started...and Cyclops was actually dead at the time.
lol How long was that, 6 months? The first X-flick came out in 2000, it featured Cyke and Cyke was back to the forefront of the books by spring the next year.
Assuming we could say Storm was prominent then, she hasn't really been since.

So what you're saying is that you want Cyclops to stop being the center of the franchise and start appearing in various, virtually non-canon side-books instead?

I think any Storm/Jean/Logan/Rogue/etc fan would trade 30 insignificant appearances in side-books to have the main books focus on their favorite, especially if they could get said main books taken over by a different writer.

But cry, cry, cry for poor underexposed Cyclops lol.

Characters like Azazel and Angel (the Morrison version)? I would compare THEM to Maggot...and Banshee hasn't made a significant appearance in the comics in years (most of which time he's been dead).

He was dead in the comics for a little over a year real time...pretty much the duration of Claremont's first return to the x-titles...and he wasn't appearing in ANYTHING during that time (which won't be the case with Wolverine)...he was also basically absent from the x-titles for a couple years prior to that until just before his death.

Storm was prominent in the x-titles until she went off to become Queen of Wakanda and to join both the Fantastic Four & the Avengers (so, yeah, she just VANISHED)...she's been back with a vengeance the last couple years and even has her own book now, so you can't say she hasn't been prominent.

How exactly is he the center of the franchise when the adult version only regularly appears in Uncanny X-Men? And even with Wolverine dead, I guarantee you all the x-titles will still have stories that will practically be all about him anyway...but I guess those are all going to be non-canon side books, huh? And when he comes back in a couple years, Bendis will likely have killed off adult Cyclops by then and Wolverine will be all over every book at Marvel, just wait.

I think any Storm/Jean/Logan/Rogue/etc fan would trade 30 insignificant appearances in side-books to have the main books focus on their favorite, especially if they could get said main books taken over by a different writer.

Rogue is prominently featured in Uncanny Avengers, a book that directly leads into the next big Marvel event Axis. Storm is prominently featured in her own book plus X-Men, Amazing X-Men & Wolvernine and the X-Men (she's taken over the school), All New X-Men might as well be a Jean Grey solo series (and it's the flagship book at the moment)...but, yeah, it's ALL about Cyclops.

But we weren't even talking about the comics (which mostly suck right now anyway) but rather the movies...and all of the characters you mention have a greater presence there than Cyclops.

Felt forced, didn't like it much. Could have used the time to building up the other characters.

As brilliant as Chris Claremont is, that's a bad reason to hook them up and Singer made a huge mistake by pretending it was anything more than a horribly contrived idea.
This is incredible and explains so damn much.

We got Banshee and Gurl Angel...............

The stories have't featured Storm in any major or notable way in years. Point blank.
Doesn't make her any less important, since she was important when the movies came out and has remained decently relevant even when she isn't top woman

Lol, $5,000,000? Movie Scott got $500,00 while all the other SAME tier mutants got the $10,000,000. Trying to say Cyclops had anything but a bad role, it's like...really dude? Did you even watch the movies?

The only underexposure ANYONE is mentioning is his movie role one, which is indeed nonsensical..................... don't play the "poor underexposed Cyclops in comics" when no one is saying he is.

And since you keep undermining, derailing, and assuming about posters stupidly, I'll leave you with this: Careful, you're Cyke jealousy is showing.......like, blindingly showing.

What is this real 'xmen' (or more properly, X-Men) fan you speak of?
Only a Sith deals in absolutes.
