Gillan has always written a really good Sinister and Hope but I really like how he has honed Exodus' religious zealotry into an almost endearing trait.
Hope bringing up her parentage tells me that Gillen is going to tackle Hope's origins before all of this ends and what her purpose was always meant to be as "Mutant Messiah".
I hope so. If Hope sacrifices herself to rebirth Jean and the Phoenix for on going that will be so cool
X-Men Forever
I didn't quite understand the whole premice though.
Are they all actually dead in the WHR ? Why did they have to leave everyone else behind ? Are the one left behind definitely gone ?
(I haven't read the issue but I love being spoiled)
Hope became my favorite character since that Cable's run and I mainly read X-Men comics with her.
I don't know whether to cry because the character is going to disappear (again) or be eternally grateful that I could read Gillen writing her again and giving her the best ending possible.
Between this, Krakoa essentially being dead-dead, the Dominions being herded to the slaughter and the all things Phoenix apparently being killed off beyond being a costume/power-up/codename for Jean; there’s very much a ‘wipe the board clean’ energy about
Everyone is technically alive in the WHR, they were just stuck there. The X-Men killed on earth were brought back in this issue (and in Rise #4). Sinister said it would take almost all the energy Atlantic Krakoa had to send a small group back to earth so that's why they resurrected and picked the best X-fighters they could. As of right now the ones left behind don't have a way home but I can see the Phoenix bringing them back once rebooted maybe.

Krakoa, Arakko, and Otherworld forever!
So Xavier starts a genocide and literally only Rachel has an issue with it
If Hope dies or gets taken off the board, I won't be too broken up about it. Gillen is one of the only writers who gets her right and she pretty much languished from AvX - Krakoa. She would at least get a well-written send off that respects the character and most likely positively adds to her backstory.
