^That merch ban never affected Spidey.
Spidey was removed from the secret wars novel. Removed from the secret wars t shirt and removed from that years lego game only added as free dlc later when the dust cleared. He sure as heck was banned at the time by ike.

Spider-Man is still on the t-shirts in those links. The reason he was only released as DLC for Lego Avengers was to serve as cross promotion for the Civil War movie that year. And he was still present in the high profile things the X-Men and FF were banned from, such as the last Marvel vs Capcom game, Disney Infinity and Lego Avengers 2, as well as tons of merchandise and cartoons. Spider-Man was not part of that embargo.

Weird, one of those t-shirts also has Power Man (Luke Cage) in place of Captain Marvel (Monica Rambeau). Were they trying to bury any pre-Carol Captain Marvels as well or something?

A creative spree like the Silver Age, with creative teams creating loads and loads of new characters each month, for years. Even if Jack Kirby himself came back to life, he would know better and go somewhere else and own the characters he creates, an option that wasn't on the table back then.

Yeah, movies have kinda highlighted how unfair the industry is to creators.

Which sucks, as we don't have enough minority characters, but we're now only ever going to get a small trickle of them because creators will rightfully hold their best stuff back.

    ^^^So true regarding Kirby.

    I wonder where he’d go?
Image would welcome him w. open arms, but maybe one of the smaller imprints (like Ahoy, Aftershock, Lion Forge…) would catch his eye, in terms of helping to put them on the map.

Yep, me too! Plus, I have always loved Hank and want to see him return to positive prominence!

COuld be. You could expect anything from theMarvel of those days. However is more surprising they left on the t-shirt the image of She-Hulk. Somebody either forgot or never knew she was a member of the Fantastic Four for a while. Or maybe her movie rights were tied to Hulk's movie rights and that spared her from ostracism.

Indeed. Utilizing brains over brawn, Pym overcomes any obstacle & escapes life-threatening predicaments...

I agree about Hank Pym. Just because of that one panel where he appeared to slap Jan, he's been on a downward path ever since.

A lot of us want to see this. Marvel is the problem and not Hank. They need a whipping boy apparently. I still believe Avengers Inc was cancelled because of him.
