    Default Death's Head Appreciation

    death's head 1.jpg

One of the most unique characters ever to grace the pages of Marvel Comics, Death's Head, the freelance peacekeeping agent ( don't call him a bounty hunter) was a fixture of Marvel UK.
A recent spat of reappearances have re-awoken many fans love of the character.

To quote "Simon Furman said in 2011 that the character was still popular because “he’ll never change or compromise or grow or repent or agonise like most comic book characters. He’s this unchanging, uncompromising rock that other characters bounce off. But you still kind of love him. Weird.” "

Whether its his early comics you love or his recent appearances in Iron Man and Spider-Man, there is a lot to like about the character.

    So let's discuss him, yes?

One of my favourite characters in Transformers, yes? Glad to see he went on to other things, hm?

Will admit, as a kid, I made cardboard versions of his axe, mace, rifle and gun attachments out of toilet roll tubes and selotape. That dedicated a fan, yes?

Still got a lot of love for the character after all this time. Always preferred the original green and yellow look to the later blue and yellow, yes?

Actually grew to like DH2 even though others hate him, hm?

Haven't had a ton of exposure to the character but he was my favorite part of Revolutionary War.

I'm not familiar by the character other than his un wavering lack of morals and going through with the job. I did however create a bio for him http://community.comicbookresources....ciation/page15

I will say this now that DC is going for the tween version of Lobo I hope Deaths Head has his own ongoing or mini at least.

Yes. That would be awesome. The buddy book... with himself! I've long maintained that would be a winner.

It seemed like the bookend to REVOLUTIONARY WAR with the two Death's Heads ,and Tuck teleporting off to parts unknown were planning on continuing their partnership.
On the subject of Death's Head being in the next GOTG. The original I keep thinking being played by Vin Diesel. I know he already plays Groot, but with the original Freelance Peace Keeping Agent having a face that looks like the grill to Mack Semi Tractor Trailer Truck. Him channeling a bit of his Iron Giant voice into the role he'd be perfect. For Death's-Head II, I keep thinking Dwayne Johnson for the role.

I learned about the character from Fantastic Four issues written and drawn by Walt Simonson, which led to me taking a liking to said character.
