In light of the recent Beetle/Booster/JLI/JL3000 news... and the recently departed Levitz Legion, which followed a similar concept...
What would you think of creator-defining runs being given their own individual mini-verses, continuing from a certain point in time near the end of their runs?
Think rebooted Star Trek, if you must, but instead of verging of at the beginning, do it at the end so what came before could be used as backstory.

I mentioned Legion (picking up some time after Legion of Super-Heroes #63) and Justice League 3000 (apparently continuing much later than JLA Classified #9) but DC has a couple other books that follow the same idea:
