Honestly there is nothing Wanda can do that the X-fans would accept, no matter what she did fans would still complain and say it isn't enough and have the pitchforks and torches out. So in all honesty I think her character is fine where she is now as a character not apologizing and begging for forgiveness because really even if she did X-fans wouldn't accept it anyway so what would be the point. Nothing marvel could write or do for Wanda involving a redemption story will make X-fans happy so really is there a point, I think marvel really just moved on from it because they no there is nothing they could do to please X-fans.
Have you ever even read the story? Because that isn't how it went down...he left to go SEE Jean and promptly had a nervous breakdown...he didn't abandon Maddie and even tried to go back for her, still having the breakdown and even hallucinating at the time...he and Jean didn't actually get back together until after Fall of the Mutants when they saw Maddie and all the X-Men die circa X-Factor #26.
The reset button...Rictor wouldn't have his powers today if not for her but it was all messed up by more impulsive characters.
Bait? Cyclops left his son for a woman. What in the world are u talking about? They knew they messed up too. Why Do U think they did The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix?
I think Scarlet Witch will be in a better position after Axis. That storyline will help further her redemption arc. Then she will be in the Age of Ultron movie, which will raise the character's profile. She will get better writing because of that.
Nope. Not at this stage.
I had some hope with the Children's Crusade mini but...that turned out to so much shittery.
She is better off simply acknowledging her wrong-doing, accepting responsibility (no matter wot Doom says) showing remorse and moving on.
Sun and Moon
STORM #1...Greg Pak (W) Victor Ibanez (A/CA)...July 23rd 2014
Those who embrace nature are in turn embraced by her.
She doesn't have that kind of power anymore though. To pull off the mass teleportation stunt in UA she had to use up all of Wonder Man's energy to get it to work. If she wanted to try and heal all the original mutants that are still without their powers she'd have to actually look for another power source that she could use to accomplish that with. And I don't think anybody, either in the MU or the actually readership, is too keen on her going down that road again.
[broken record]It seems unfair to eternally hold an innocent fictional character responsible for the actions of his writer (who was only following Shooter's orders anyway).
It's not as if it was even a good story, worthy of remembering. It was barely a story at all. It was an editorial fiat to get the original X-Men back together just because.
[/broken record]
Really, it's been like decades. Either you let go of crap like this and edit your personal canon accordingly, or just plain stop getting any enjoyment out of these books after a while because at some point all of them will have been monsters at one time or another if continuity runs long enough.

He didn't abandon them forever...he just went to go see Jean...he even went back for them...it's an important distinction that some like to forget...and Adv of Cyclops & Phoenix had NOTHING to do with that story...Cyke had to send the kid into the future to save his life...as soon as he got a chance to follow, he did (although Rachel didn't really give either of them a choice).
It seems like so many are ready to write Cyclops off as a character for that story which, by all accounts, was handled horribly, but they don't like to accept the later additions to said story like Maddie was already psychically manipulating him by that point and that was the only reason he left the X-Men to go off with her in the first place.
And no one wants to call Claremont on his crap for setting the whole thing up by having Cyke marry a Jean lookalike anyway.
