I liked the deep and subtle nuances Austen brought to writing women.

WHORE or NUTTIER THAN SQUIRREL ****

For my money, whilst not quite plumbing the truly atrocious depths of Howard Mackie's last year on Mutant X, Austen produced the worst run on any 'name' X-book of all time.

The difference between Austen's run and the trash heap of an X-Verse we currently have, is that in 2003 we still had hope.

I CARED that it was bad.

Now, I feel like we're too far gone.

Me, I'll take Austen over Ennis any day.

(Before anyone says anything, I AM aware that Ennis never wrote any X-title, thank God.)
