doing creator owned stuff comes down to this. you are making a love project. you have all the best intentions, you hope people will see your project, recognize the quality and financially support it.

sales start off well, and your optimism is high.... and then you realize that you got hit by the speculator market getting their hands on any and all issue 1s.

but you decide, never mind. people will talk, people will come, they will read it and the sales will pick up

buuut you don't really have the marketing possibilities to get the word out there

sooo sales drop further....aaaand that is when you realize that in order to get your project done, and....yknow.... live, pay the rent , food and so on... you have to take on side gigs....

these influence productivity, and schedule starts slipping..... this makes more people drop the book deciding to tradewait....

which makes the creators have to take on more sidegigs.... often being put in the situation of having to drop the book entirely.... and not even a trade happens

That's right, it's essentially 3 mini series, I'm sure I read each arc/mini will follow different characters but be connected in some way...I'll probably try the first issue.
