has Five Ghosts gotten better after the first arc?

"It's Louis C.K. meets Robert E. Howard in a David Fincher universe." Yes Please

And seriously, not a bad cover in the bunch. Great design, great mood in a lot of these covers.

In my opinion, the first arc was better than the second but I love Five Ghosts too much to quit now. I really can't wait for the third arc to start.

Super light month for my wallet. Only certainty is A Voice in the Dark #4
I'm also definitely going to read ODY-C somehow, but I would kinda prefer to go the trade route here.

    Possibilities:
Tooth & Claw #2 -- Busiek tends to write long ongoing series right? Considering to trade wait this, though I wanna give the first issue a try.
Bitch Planet -- Have high hopes for this to be good, but not sure if I'm really truly interested. Genre tends not to be my thing.

Yeah I see what you mean, but I guess those are just easy elevator-pitches. With so much good stuff out right now it's difficult to stand out. Take the new Stephenson book: super vague description, no marketing so far. If it had said "it's Die Hard in a themepark!" or "it's Harry Potter in Jurassic Park!' or whatever, you'd instantly have a rough idea what it is. So while I do agree that it makes the comics sound derivative, it's just a really concise way of pitching an idea to a new audience...

Seems like it will be a slow month for me I'm December which is good since I can finally try out morning glories with that compendium releasing. Will probably pick up Rumble and They're Not Like Us. Will probably spend this month catching up on stuff that I'm behind on since a few of my titles on break.

"Expecto Raptorus, expecto raptorus!!" Harry yelled in desperation, but the spell was not powerful enough to ward off the horde of Dementoraptors summoned by Dracosaurus Malfoy...
B-RON-tosaurus' plan to turn Hermiodactyl's Time Turner back 250 million years had been a huge miscalculation, and to top it all of they had lost Neville Longneck somewhere in the overgrowth! What would Dumbleroar say if they ever managed to find their way back?

Many titles not releasing this month, or in TPB this month, for me (Saga, Rat Queens, Sex Criminals, Velvet, Elephantmen, Chew, Southern Bastards, Outcast, Fade Out, and Black Science), so that opens room for a new title.

    For me:

They're Not Like Us 1 (Sheltered is ending so that opens up a spot)
    East of West 16
    Magdalena Seventh Sacrament
    Sheltered 15
    Shutter 7
    Wicked + Divine 6
Sunstone (perfect timing with so many books off this month)
    Alex + Ada 11
    Copperhead 4
    Deadly Class 10
    Death Vigil 6
    Lazarus 14
    Low 6
    Nailbiter 8
    Revival 26
    Trees 8
    Witchblade 181
    Wytches 3

Not sure what Rumble is about exactly but it is written by John Arcudi and has art by James Harren making this an insta-buy. Harren is awesome.

TLDR, we won't be seeing Nowhere Men any time soon.
Ah! That explains why this book is not ongoing.

Either way, I'm not particularly excited for another Stephenson book. Having read Nowhere Men, I fail to see what makes him so good or memorable (or why he was nominated at all for writing).

That's Image's greatest weakness I feel. They can tell me when they are publishing a book, but I refuse to believe until it comes out that week and I see it for myself.

But yeah, I'll echo everyone's comment: December is a dead month. So very little of their big hitters are coming out (though it could easily be possible that some of them get delayed until December).

qft. it almost makes me not want to read them

As for me, purchase candidates in a relatively weak month are:

    Drifter
    Roche Limit
    Birthright
    Copperhead
    Deadly Class
    Low
    Tooth & Claw
    Wayward
    Sovereign TPB
    Dream Police TPB

    some musings:
    - 2 months in a row w/ no Wiebe title
    - Dark Engine TPB includes #1-4...but #4 was never solicited...
    - Sovereign TPB shows no "Vol 1"...does the series end at #5?
Comics were definitely happier, breezier and more confident in their own strengths before Hollywood and the Internet turned the business of writing superhero stories into the production of low budget storyboards or, worse, into conformist, fruitless attempts to impress or entertain a small group of people who appear to hate comics and their creators. -- Grant Morrison, 2008

trade-waiting - Ice Cream Man, Monstress

backlog - Blade of the Immortal, Mignolaverse, Mind MGMT, Promethea

I've been steadily adding more Image titles to my pull list. It helps when titles go on their skip months so I have other Image titles to read.

    Birthright #3
    Copperhead #4
    Drifter #2
East of West #16 (Hell yeah it's back!)
    Low #6
    ODYC #2
    Rasputin #3
    Rise of the Magi #6
    Roche Limit #4
Rumble #1 (Maybe. Not sure of this one.)
    Savage Dragon #201
    Tooth and Claw #2
Trees #8 (Did the end of the solicit get cut off or was that on purpose? Image's website has the same thing. Trying to figure out if this book is gonna go past Ellis' original 8 issues. He said it could go longer if sales were good.)
    Umbral #12
    Wayward #5
    Wytches #3

I thought the big Al Simmons returning Spawn #250 was coming out this month? Looks like they're skipping the month to prepare I guess.
