Should be a very eventful Christmas indeed, but not for the usual festive reasons.

I'm starting to think the goal of AXIS and of 2014 as a whole is to completely deconstruct these heroes so that they all need some kind of redemption to show that they're still heroes on some levels. I also think the goal is to take the villains and make them seem more multi-dimensional. I'm all for this, but I'm not yet convinced that it can be done in a believable manner. I'm keeping an open mind though. I like the idea of some villains trying to do what Doc Ock did with Superior Spider-Man. I think that would shake things up in a way that wouldn't involve just killing more characters, something both Marvel and DC have used WAY too much of lately.

As for books with the best solicits, Nightcrawler and Cyclops definitely take the top title there. It's nice to know that during the holidays, there will be some less dire stories to follow.

God, I would kill to read a regular Avengers book starring 3D-Man, Stingray, Valkyrie, US Agent, and Elsa Bloodstone...ESPECIALLY if Dr. Doom was somewhere in the mix.
