How come there wasn't as much outrage when Wolverine killed Northstar? Was it because he wasn't in his clear mind?

He wasn't the one that mattered...plus, he got better so all is forgiven...just as all will be forgiven with Scott when Xavier eventually, inevitably returns.

But the way the other X-Men turned on him and blamed him for something they saw with their own eyes was done while possessed by the phoenix force, when they'd fallen over themselves to forgive every other possessed X-Man in the past, realistically ought to stop Cyke forgiving them, tho. There is no equivalent from the past of someone who has been so unjustly treated by people who used to call themselves his friends or who've indulged in such blatant double standards. Even if he forgives them he shouldn't ever trust them again.

Maybe Emma's "broken" psi powers have done something to her and she actually still has full power and she's behind it all in an effort to undermine Scott either to isolate him and get him all for herself or to get revenge on him...she could have come unhinged post-Phoenix and no one knows it yet...maybe it's Jean doing it from the White Hot Room to try and push Scott to the point where he'll let go of the darkness and go back to being the man she loved...there are a lot of possibilities as to who is responsible and why but some kind of telepathic manipulation is the only acceptable explanation for the rampant mischaracterization...not that I expect we'll get that unless it's from some later writer trying to justify it all after the fact.

I think the more appropriate question is did anyone even care that he was dead at all?

And I think he was back before the end of the arc but, as I recall, that arc was said to take place over several months...plenty of time to get pissed...if anyone cared.

Its no more shady than wolverine telling Xmen they don't kill while stabbing Northstar,Rachel,Hope, ect it's just a privlage reserved for him.

People did get mad at Marvel having Wolverine kill Northstar, based completely on his sexuality, their view was that you couldn't kill a gay character for that reason alone.

Also the only reason anyone gave a crap when he got married...and likely the only couple in the Marvel U other than Reed/Sue that will get to stay that way since the big two have such a hatred of marriages these days.

The marriage was completely a publicity stunt, much like when DC made the original Green Lantern(Not Hal Jordan but the one that used to run around in a cape) gay with a boyfriend for all of like 5 issues before the boyfriend got killed off.

Agreed...and DC's stunt was even more ridiculous as that was NOT the original GL...it was a brand new character with the same name who had appeared for all of 1 issue before he was revealed to be gay...but DC still tried to play it off as if he was finally coming out of the closet after 70 years.

What was especially bad about DC's stunt was that iirc the Green Lantern that they changed to being gay had a gay adopted son or something like that, that they could have pushed and used instead...
