Ever since the early X-Men movies came out, I think artists have started to create costumes that would be best adapted for film. And since then Marvel has done a stupendous job being faithful to the classics without them looking ridiculous.

There's some features of the Iron Spider costume that I like, like the spider legs (something I'm glad Doc Ock had when he was Spider-Man). I hated the storyline, though. It's what caused me to stop collecting Spider-Man comics for the longest time.

I think it's only because comics have a certain amount of "fantasy" element for Namor's speedos to make sense. If this was reality, I can't imagine any reason Namor would wear clothes. It's the same reason why Tarzan wears loincloth in most TV shows or movies or why Ariel has sea shell bikini tops. Can't have a comic that started off geared towards kids with all the dangly-bits of characters hanging out who should be naked.

Character color pallet that never made sense to me.

    Why is she purple?

This one is a lot better in any number of ways. For one she looks a lot more like both a cat and a thief (as opposed to a stripper in purple latex). This is one of the times where I feel the more "practical" approach to costume design works better.

    your age is showing

she was purple in the re-design, as a nod to one of the most popular "looks" Catwoman had in the comics: Purple Bodysuit/green cape (that she wore starting way back in the Golden Age)

Still doesn't make any sense. Unless their is some connection between cats and the color purple that I'm unaware of.

Same, I don't know a lot of people who like it.

Depends on the character for me,

Jan Durrsema's Jedi costumes were always fun' I particularly enjoyed her designs from Dawn of the Jedi. I still might get Daegen Lok's proto-sith costume done as I love the lines and the lace up sleeves.

I also like Simon Davis' recent light tweak on Slaine's costume. It looks a bit more mythic and barbaric rather than outright Celtic, which is fine by me.

Bumping up an old thread, to add some pics to it.

Everyone knows how the Wonder Twins looked in The Super Friends. I really preferred the look they had when they were in Young Justice.

Firestar has gone through some costume changes. I always liked the middle costume the best.

Kitty Pryde has had some real CRAZY costumes in the past.

This was always my favorite look for Kitty, after she took the name Shadowcat.
