Oop, wrong thread, Sorry.
Oop, wrong thread, Sorry.
Honestly, while Jeff Lemire has done a brilliant job reinventing the Green Arrow mythos, as a story, The Outsiders War was fairly underwhelming. Which is surprising, considering the brilliant concepts Lemire introduced, with the Outsiders, the legend of the 'green arrow', Robert Queen being alive, the twist to Oliver's origin story etc.
I'm actually looking forward to see GA battle crime in Seattle again. Since Lemire's run began he's been more international adventurer than crime-fighter.
Quoted because I agree!
I love Sorrentino's art - it's a wonderful minimalistic blend of chiroscuro and Banksy-esque street art. Sure he must use some form of visual sources, but lots of artists do. Better to see an artist use visual sources to assist them with anatomy and composition than the plethora of artists whom don't. Sorrentino is consistant on a monthly schedule, and he is half the reason Green Arrow is an absolute joy for me to experience each month.
On subject of the actual topic, did anyone else spot the I, Vampire reference this issue? (the boat)
*edit* The "razor" teaser is awesome!
Yea, I'm always promoting this book, trying to bring in some new readers, it's not setting the world on fire, (sales wise) but it's holding steady...

It is...
This next arc, you get just that...
#MagnetoWasRight
Am I correct in saying #32 will be a jump on point... Or am I being completely mislead?
Throw me to the Wolves... And I'll come back leading the Pack.
Yeah, #31 concluded the current arc and #32 begins the Longbow Hunters story.
If you are looking to jump in (excellent choice!), no better way than with Volume 4 of the trades. I picked it today (even though I have all the monthly issues from #17) which covers the first part of Lemire & Sorrentino taking over. It covers from #17 through to #24 and also includes the Count Vertigo #1 / Green Arrow #23.1.
The run so far in terms of story arcs goes;
#17 - #21 - The Kill Machine (5 issues)
#22 & #23 - Shados (two parter)
#23.1 - "Count Vertigo #1" (single issue)
#24 - Dissonance (single issue)
Not collected in trade until Volume 5 is out in October (I believe?)
#25 - Zero Year tie-in (single issue)
#26- #31 - Outsiders War (6 parter)
#31 only came out last week so that's the run so far. You could easily jump in with #32 with the start of the Broken arc, but the themes and characters of said arc have been building up since #22 I believe.
Hope that helps!
