I agree with Marvel by removing the variants by the artist. Note that I have absolutely no problem with the artist but what he depicts doesn't really coincide with how Marvel is trying to change the perception of woman in comic books. Though they were at fault for hiring on the artist to begin with.

Honestly i find the cover variant just vulgar but well, that's Manara line of work, they should have thought about that before hiring the dude.

This is a cover from 2012. For those thinking this was the cover that was pulled, that's incorrect.

I had/have no interest in Spider-Woman whatsoever, but if I can get my hands on that variant I'm buying it. I totally support that guy's right to draw the character however he sees fit...

doh. Well i guess Ill have to get a print from Italy or does Marvel hold the rights..and arent going to let any future variant see the light of day?

there is truly little outlet for adult-driven graphic art anymore. the original Epic would never see the light of day, nowadays. Heavy Metal would be branded pornography.

I really wanted to buy the Storm poster until i saw the color of Storm's eyes. It should be blue, not brown.

I think Scarlet Witch fans may not be satisfied with the way Wanda is being drawn.

But I think he did well with Psylocke

Can't we just go back to "If you don't like, it don't buy it"?.... sheesh...the internet really blows sometimes.

It seems odd that they'd remove all of his upcoming variants, which makes me wonder what the dealio is.

Also, as far as Axel's comment, remember that he still answers to the Publisher and the suits. I could imagine there was pressure from above, unless Manara just opted to push his work to the extreme just to offend people who aren't intending to buy this books anyway.

I highly doubt Spider-woman was going to do gangbusters, so I'm kind of surprised that cover drew so much ire considering Manara has been doing his thing at Marvel for years at this point. Notice how Storm's costume upthread fits her like a second skin.

And is normal for USA, were boobs are censored but bullets killing people is normal.
By the way, something must be done against this cover: Wolverine is NUDE!!
Well, Wolverine is a male charácter; so i dont that anyone would care about that.

Wow. Marvel caving in to stupid censorship.

Amazing what a little bit of media frenzy can do.
