Most interesting sections for me were Batman Beyond and Grifter (shooting a family up - even if disguised alien invaders - was deeply unsettling!) - Lemire's usually v. good but his Stormwatch scene(s) seemed very clunky ("yes, my NANITE BLOOD - arg, kaff" "what is it "AQUATICMONSTERLADY?", etc).

Good issue, really interesting way of kicking things off
But jeez there was alot of deaths in this...

Are we for sure that all of Stormwatch is dead, though? We know Apollo is, but we didn't really get a confirmation that the rest of the team is. They could have zeta'ed out of the Carrier right before the explosion or something.

I think its because Judgens was on a Firestorm solo before it was cancelled last year. Dont know about Grifter/Azzarello connection

It makes him seem useless and I'm going to assume that's Roy, judging by the red hair.

Is the hair red, I thought it looked a bit blond-ish on top.
It could turn out to be Roy though, considering he is wearing red and the red arrows.

I thought it was interesting, though, that before "Not-Connor" died in Earth 2, Dr. Fate told him "you are not part of our future." I wonder if the word "our" implies that he is part of someone else's (like Earth Prime's) future?

There's something in a solicit about Frankenstein and Shade getting a deep-space distress call, and since Stormwatch now has a member who is a former agent of SHADE, it seems like she or they survived to send the signal. I even wonder if Apollo is really that easy to permanently kill; maybe he''ll reconstitute himself, or Jenny Q will be be able to reconstitute him, as an energy being or something.

Depends on how he actually came by his "New52" powers. The old version was simply a Midnighter(physical/cyber re-worked human) style version of Superman. He definitely seemed like he could be killed.

Pretty decent first issue, but man, tries I might no one can make me care about Firestorm. I've really tried too, but he just bores me.
