Invent a Batman from any country

The newest recruit to the Batmen-of-all-Nations;

What is their name, background, area of expertise? What does their costume look like, who are their villains and anything else you can add.

The weirder the better!

Off the top of my head, some form of seafaring "anti-pirate" type would be cool, protecting vulnerable ships whilst disguised as a crewman or infiltrating pirate enclaves in various get-ups and fake personas.

Only villains I can think would be suitable would be King Kraken and Tiger Shark, since both of them are modern day pirates!

Either way, or update Bat- Hombre as a double agent of El Papgano (like the original) or Leviathan (El Papaganos boss in the New 52).

I'd re-do the English member as I'm not keen on Knight.

They'd have an origin as brillaint but failed engineer student so they becomes a plumber to pay the bills during the day and at night/weekends he'd live his life as a football holigan untill one day the (some what) friendly nature of getting in a huge fights with rival supporters goes too far and ends with the death of his friend.

After the mourning period is over they become a pacifist and uses his enginering talents to build non-lethal & low-tech gizmos that specilaizes in disbaling large crowds but always avoids direct hand to hand fighting or serious harm to others. Once the football rioting has been reduced he feels the need to carry on and starts a more subtle war on cockney gangs based on the likes of the BNP, Tottenham Mandem etc by doing stuff like creating black outs/flooding, non-lethal death traps etc to specific areas to prevent them from committing crimes.

Their look would be based on the symbol/mascot of the football club he supported so lets have it as a bulldog and calls himself "Bulldog", his outfit would be a helmet shaped like a bulldog face with the bottom jaw missing, wears the plumbers utility belt filled with his gizmos, no cape and has doc martin boots.

I'd like to see an Icelandic Batman. We don't have a lot of superheroes from this country; the only I've encountered so far is a guy called Strongman, whose only power was being stronger than the average man. That's a bit tacky for a superpower...

Now for the Icelandic version of Batman, I'd get some inspiration from the vikings. He'd be really big, like 7 feet big and extremely muscular. You know what? Just for the irony of it I'd have his power being stronger than the average man. Basically it's a guy who was competing in weightlifting challenges. He'd be someone on par with Jón Páll. He's a guy spends the majority of his life outside so he's really weathered. He would have a big beard and viking horns.

His fighting style is that much slower than others, but he makes up for it with pure brute strength and extreme durability. His skin is tougher than the average human so he's able to shake off beatings really easy. I'm not saying he's like Aquaman who's close to invulnerable and can get shot at close range without a scratch, but you need something really sharp to pierce his skin. As I said he's slower than other people, but when he gets to full speed he can travel pretty quickly. His homebase terrain are mountains which he can easily travel over. This gives him incredible stamina and he's able to go on for a long time without nutrition or stopping. He can thrive in cold places very easily, but this makes him a little fan of the heat.

His skills are something like expert tracking, herb knowledge and really anything related to the environment. He has heightened senses like hearing, smelling and eye sight. He has an understanding with local animals. I'm not saying he can communicate with them, more like understanding of the environment around him based on the behaviour of the animals around him.

He would have a big club that he uses as a weapon and some smaller knives. He doesn't like violence, but he isn't afraid to throw down when required. His superhero name is Jarl. His real name is Haraldur, or Harald.

When he was a child, his parents abandoned him and he was forced to learn his ways on the street. He soon left his local town and began traveling around the high terrain of Iceland. He picked up a lot of skills from his travels around the country and he has excellent geographical skills in the Icelandic terrain. He encounters Batman when he comes to Iceland in order to save an important figure that was kidnapped by an evil-doer and left to die in the Icelandic terrain. At first Batman suspects that a wild animal was killed this figure or taken him to his cave or something, but eventually Batman learns of Jarl and his life. Batman teaches him a little bit and then recruits him into the Batman Inc. as the Batman of Iceland.

Although crime rate isn't that high here in Iceland so Batman only ever calls him when he really needs help... Batman should call him more often though, Jarl can get lonely wondering about the Icelandic terrain on his own.

The One-Armed Bandit - the Batman of Nevada. His left arm was blown off while he was on tour in Afghanistan. By day, Jack Diaz Curtis is a normal, mild mannered former veteran working at a big name casino as a slot machine repairman. By night he dons a special, state-of-the-art suit designed by Bruce Wayne himself. The suit comes complete with a silver cybernetic left arm that houses as many gadgets as Batman's utility belt. Having been a former body builder and solider, Jack prefers wearing thick armor to the more refined, dexterous suits favored by other Batman Inc. heroes. The One-Armed Bandit patrols Las Vegas in a heavily armored all-terrain vehicle he calls Blackjack. Jack Diaz Curtis is aided by his uncle - Juan Diaz Santiago - who is a retired Police Officer and serves as an operations and intelligence coordinator (much like Alfred). His code name is Bingo. Occasionally, the One-Armed Bandit is aided by his wife, Ming Diaz-Zhang, who goes by the code-name Flamingo. Jack is very apprehensive about putting his wife in harm's way but he cannot contain her enthusiasm for heroics.

The Batman of Liliput.

This small but mighty avenger saw his family murdered before him by the armies of Blefuscu.

Adopting his father's blue and burgandy armless and legless wrestling togs, he battles oppression and defends the meek that fall between the two mighty cities embattled, swearing that no more families shall share the fate of his own.

His only ally, unreliable though he may be, is a giant from another land that he may sometimes call upon during moments of great peril.

His greatest foe is the army of Blefuscu, but he's also made a mortal enemy of The Otter, who attacks the countrysides of Lilliput at random striking from the rivers that run through the land.

He's also foiled the plots of the evil Goat, who somehow manages to attack the castles highest towers without being seen by the royal guard, attempting stealing the Queen's beautiful collection of rare jewels one at a time. No one has ever seen the Goat, or his alleged accompice the beautiful Sparrow, except the Batman of Lilliput, who described the thief as "a speedy critter, that seemed to dart from the tiniest edge of brick to the next to climb to the top of the tower."

Bat Creature of Germany

Hugo Strange has hidden himself away on a lonely German countryside estate, far from prying eyes and uncomfortable questions. His neverending obsession with Batman has driven him to embark on a new scientific journey that will result in the creation of his very own Batman.

Gathering...spare parts... from local cemetaries, Hugo puts together the ultimate speciman. But life will surprise you in the most unexpected ways...and the innocent child-minded FRANKENBAT may eventually develop ideas of his own about what it means to be a Batman. All he needs is a role model.

The Five Blessings of Bautou

In China's largest slum there are whispers of a group known as the Five Blessings, each member dressed in a unique Bat costume, each serving the slum in their unique way.

Fanrong (prosperity) – One of the founding members of this shadowy alliance against crime, some believe she was once a spoiled rich daughter of one of the wealthiest families in China. No one's quite sure how she ended up devoting her resources to the Five Blessings. Her ninja-bat costume is largely Gold plated armor with dark grey highlights and eyes black as night.

Shou (longevity) – This grey eyed youth is the most mysterious of the group. His charm and easy laugh will make you forget you don't know anything about him. Apart from what the neighborhood children whisper. Thousands of years old, and drinks the blood of humans. Ridiculous fairy tales...right? Shou is just a very bored young man looking for thrills. Some of his teammates wish he wouldn't encourage the rumors though. His wintery colored bat-suit goes well with his grey eyes.

Xi (happiness) – The youngest member of the group that everyone loves. She tries her best to measure up to the other members. Her pink bat-suit is as vibrant as her personality.

Jian (Health) – The super athlete of the group. Competing professionally in sports left Jian feeling unfilfilled. When seeking a simpler life through journeying across China, he came across others who he would eventually join to become the Five Blessings with. Jian is a strong shoulder for any of his friends to lean on, and he's always willing to listen. To enemies, he is quite intimidating with his large, long-limbed body towering in his dark green armor.

Anning (Tranquil Death) – Anning certainly isn't the most liked member of the group. His rather strong personality means he often clashes with other members. He's also the only member who is willing to do 'what is necessary' to end crime, at least according to him. The others look away when he brings a 'natural, peaceful' end to some of the worst criminals in Bautou. It might be easier to see things Anning's way if he didn't appear to take such pleasure in his job. The way his hair always hides his eyes makes it hard to get a read on him. This is one member who might not be so eager to be absorbed into batman incorporated.


These are my poorly researched, 'off the top of my head' ideas. Wish I could draw so I could illustrate how I see them in my head.

I also stumbled across the fact that there's an African bat-demon named Popobawa, which translates from swahili into 'batwing.' Interesting.
