I jumped back on the monthly bandwagon during Secret Wars which I loved and the monthly I pick up are usually the first couple of issues of new books to test hem out then I? wait for the trade. But so many great books coming out that even sampling takes ages!

I am with you. Always been getting monthlies but the urge to wait for the trade or wait even longer for more issues in OHC has grown. Thinking I will drop the ANAD monthlies after the first arcs and go trade.

Finally got around to buying the remaining books of Transmetropolitan . I'm probably going to end up getting the rest of 100 Bullets once the final trade is released . I have a few runs that I need to finish out and its time I start doing that lol

What is Transmetropolitan about? How would you rank it?

What is Transmetropolitan about? How would you rank it?

It's set in a dystopian future and the first part at least is about a presidential election. The protagonist is a writer who is pulled back into the "real world" after having become a hermit to finish off a book and has now run out of money. The book is a dark technocrazy world where everything is legal no matter how immoral and people just weird! It was one of the first mature comics I read and it blew me away.

The trade / OHC is a much better read but it is hard to know what to buy.

It is tricky. For example, I am getting monthlies of titles I really like (mainly artist) and do not want to wait for. Telling myself I will get the collected editions for things I want to read later on and not all that interested in (the art) now. Doesn't make sense to wait for an OHC on a title that I don't care for the art as much. Makes much more sense to get the OHC of an artist I really like. Someday I will figure it out.

What is Transmetropolitan about? How would you rank it?

It's one of the best things to ever come out of Vertigo, in my opinion. In the top 10 of their ongoing titles. Not a bad chapter in it.

the Buffy LE's are one of these "gosh darn it just bite the freakin bullet already you idiot" books for me.
I've read and liked se8 and some of Angel and Faith so it wouldn't even be a blind buy.

I know what you mean I really enjoyed the Season 8 issues i read but then fell away from the series when I stopped buying single issues. I will pick up all the OHC's at some point, I just need somewhere to put them.
