Really considering getting the Secret Wars OHC but I haven't started collecting Hickman's Avengers run yet, and I don't want to skip to the end. Should I just buy it while its on sale anyway?

If you plan on reading hickmans Avengers at some point I would. Its also a important event in the marvel universe, Id pick it up just for that alone.

Awesome pictures! Wish I could afford it! Although I wish instead of makes books for each character I wish they would of had volumes instead so the issues could be the correct reading order. Either way, awesome purchase.

Yeah, not sure why they didn't just make the box fit the books, looks like the box could fit ohc's.

I think the goal is to make all these box sets the same size, so they have excess space on the ends to allow for more or less pages.

The Styrofoam on top is needed to absorb shock and protect the books. Even with that in place, you can see how some of the spines have been dinged with moving around so much mass.

Huh. I just noticed my EoW hc has a different color on the spine for "YR". My first printing is red. I wonder is yours a different printing? It also seems the cover may be different, from what little I can see.

Yeah like brewman has stated below it's just the ist variant, cover is war everything else in the book is the same.

I really like the presentation of the Civil War Box set but I dont understand how you are supposed to read the event that way?

Wouldnt it be better to put them in a sort of chronological order?

I read it once and I read it that way so maybe its me but i dont see how you would read one book then go to the next it seems strange.

After reading all the positive comments in this thread (and others) I treated myself earlier in my LCS and bought The Goon Library Edition Volume 1. Amazing how much book you get for the price. Can't wait to get started on it!
