Smallville is my all time favorite superhero tv show and it really got me into Superman as well cause before Smallville I hated him, now he's one of my favorite hero's. I think Arrow is going to be another classic superhero show as well, they already opened the gates for a bunch of other comic book based tv shows, we're practically getting flooded with em now thanks to the success of Arrow.

I grew up on Smallville so it has a special place in my heart.

Walking Dead and Arrow are good too. Live Action Comic shows haven't been so great in the past. I mean Smallville kinda changed how they can be made. Now as much as I loved smallville im not in denial. The show was far from perfect. The worst problem being the shitty fight scenes. They had no idea how to do Fight scenes on that show. Something that Arrow does amazing with. Smallville has some episodes and plots that left you scratching your head but then also had some episodes that were amazing. Since it ran 10yrs Ill give it to Smallville for sure. Batman tv series was horrible IMO just dreadful. Hulk was better but still didn't do nothing for me.

I have a soft spot for Batman 66 and The Hulk tv show. I think both really tried to do things that had never been done before. The hulk really took a concept that should never have worked didnt really follow the original hulk origin and came up with an interesting show.

I'm giving it to two of them. First- "The Incredible Hulk," which was not just an action show but also a drama that had Bill Bixby, one of the finest actors of his time, as well as Lou Ferigno who while not eight feet tall was able to portray the Hulk in a very believable way. That haunting piano theme at the end of every episode as Banner walked away from whatever adventure he'd just been through is something I'll never forget. The show also had sequel movies that introuced Daredevil (which was not that good) and Thor (which was GREAT), as well as a final one that allowed Banner to die and be free of his curse.

And second- "Arrow." Green Arrow is one of my all time favorite superheroes and I think this show has really delivered. It won me over gradually in its first season, and then the second season with the Deathstroke arc was absolutely amazing. Can't wait for more!

Good choices. For me the top 5 have to be Arrow,Smallville, Batman 66, Walking dead, and the incredible hulk. From there the quality goes down pretty quickly.

To edit that. I watch the walking dead and do see its good parts. But the show has so many holes in it that I have a hard time getting past it. I think its pretty overrated.

I have to say Hulk. And this is coming from someone who hates comic Hulk. Bill Bixby owned that role, completely selling us on Banner's sadness and human decency.

Yea you know if the comic hulk would of had the origin of the tv hulk and moved along that type of storyline he would be a much more compelling character.

Batman is by far the best one. Wonder Woman might come in after that. Not sure if there's been a good American comic book tv show since the '70s.

The 60s Batman was an absolute classic. I'll always love Lois & Clark, possibly the finest Clark Kent ever.
The last season of both shows sucked, but I guess that's why they were the last season.

Of course not, three of your top five are post 2000.

Walking Dead is a pretty terrible tv show, at least going off it's first season, which is where I gave up on it. It's basically one good episode, which is the pilot episode...but the interesting characters from it never show up again; (that season) it's the only thing worth watch from that season, and I can just see it as a better fuller story by watching 28 Days Later. Show was full of stupid crap. Oh hey, it's Michael Rooker, his character seems somewhat interesting, seems like some conflict will arise between him and the main character, this could be good...and he's gone the rest of the season. Oh, they've run into a gang, is something going to happen, conflict? Oh no, they're nice guys, situation defused, they're just caring for old people; they aren't just nice, they're super nice. How long was the main character unconscious after the zombie apocalypse? Sure didn't seem very long. Did his wife move on the day she was told he was dead? What the hell was even going on with that? When I was first watching it I thought: Oh, the wife and the friend were having an affair before, and, oh no, the husband is back, she doesn't love him, and now they've got to be around each other if he wants to be with a group; CONFLICT. Nope, she just moved on super fast, and she still loves her husband...she just didn't mourn him I guess? Even the cool looking zombies didn't seem to bring much in the way of conflict to the characters...it's a very odd, badly written show. But I don't know, maybe it got better after Darabont was kicked off the show. Although I heard it got worse.

I haven't read the comic book at all, but is the Walking Dead comic as much of a boring mess as the first season was? Do things happen in the comic?

Smallville is also a pretty bad show. It's like average WB/CW teen stuff...but with Superman. I remember at one point watching it can thinking: This show is terrible, why am I watching this, just because I don't get Cartoon Network anymore; do I really want to watch something with superheroes (and super powered fights) so much that I'm willing to watch this. It did have nice FX for being such a small show, and it was outdoing Heroes when it came to acton scenes.

Well I did say I thought walking dead was overrated. I kind of have to turn my brain off to enjoy it for what it is. And i have never read the comic. But I do think Arrow is a quality cb show and smallville did pretty well. I love batman 66 for what it is. Did you watch the superboy series I have never seen that but it lasted 4 years somehow.

I've seen Superboy, but I don't remember anything about it. It wasn't a show I watched.

Why not just watch one of the many many better zombie movies?

I like some zombie movies. I admit there are times when I watch walking dead and think who is writing this garbage and why am I watching it. My fault. I think for me the show has this appeal of watching how bad they write it.
