If it's Saban (the guy himself), I wouldn't hold my breath. Whenever David Yost mentioned the homophobia he encountered, he wouldn't name names but would pretty much point at producers and higher ups -- if not for the abuse, then at the very least for looking the other way when it happened (but yeah, primarily still the bullying).

Yost hinted that he might've been more tempted to accept the invitation to return to the show for its 20th anniversary had the show still been under Disney, but specifically stated that since the is back in Saban's hands, who then brought the old crew back, he consciously turned them down because of their unpleasant history together.

BUT... I can't wait for the Black Nerd Comedy episode that's going to come out of this.

Heck, I can't wait for the Japanese dub of the American movie based on an American show made from a Japanese franchise.

I think a live action power rangers feature film is a mistake and since most of the big fight scenes will be cgi anyways why not go all the way with a fully cgi animated film with over the top action looking better that way.

I was in middle school when this first hit the air waves. Kind of interesting where most of the actors are now.

Trini's actress Thuy Trang sadly passed away in an automobile accident.
Aisha's actress now is a well known voice actress
Jason became a EMT and a Firefighter in Washington DC
Rocky is a well know martial arts champion
Adam's actor (Johnny Yong Boshe) is also a well known Voice actor
Jason David Frank, Green Ranger, is a famous Martial artist champion as well
Kimberly actress is now in various Canadian series including Flashpoint
Zack's actor also does voice acting, including monsters in the newer Power rangers
Billy's actor still acts but also produces tv and films
Bulk's actor Pauly Shore actually became an animator at Disney and still acts.
Jason Narvey, Skull, got a PHD in acting and is now teaching at colleges.

I'd happily see this movie if they did it right.

Now, Saban...give us Kamen Rider Damn it! That series is just as cool and could be marketing gold!

The name of the actor who played Bulk is Paul Schrier, not Pauly Shore.

No need to make reboot Billy gay, but the chances of any sort of gay representation from any character whatsoever are close to zilch regardless because of Saban's history.

I'm so excited for this. If this is turned into a multi-movie franchise, I wouldn't mind having an origin with the original five rangers and saving the Green Ranger for the second, more bigger film. I think the first could just be the original five and Rita duking it out. The good thing about this all is that the TV show was so shallow with character and exposition dimension, it could really be expanded upon as if it never existed in the first place. There is/was no real depth to anything in the TV show. So no restrictions to original "canon".

I also wonder if this would be more technology based like the American TV show was, or more mystical like Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger was. Or both? The film would have to be aimed at an older audiences. Folks in their late twenties or early thirties. Those are the ones that remembered it at the time. This will really be nostalgia driven. If I had never seen the show before and looked at it now I wouldn't get the same feelings I still feel at my age level now.

That would indeed be pretty great. Of course, seeing Anna Kendrick in anything is pretty great, but still.

What tone will it have?
Who will be the main bad guy?
Will the zords be CGI or practical effects?
Will the black ranger be black and the yellow ranger asian?
In what way will Jason David Frank get in on this, because he totally will.
What director will be in charge of the whole thing?

they should establish universe building (its the hottest trend in the movies!) tokusatsu adaptations! start with Power Rangers (Super Sentai), followed up by a Masked Rider (Kamen Rider) movie, maybe bring back VR Troopers (Metal Heroes). Then have them all crossover! Toy sales will be off the charts!

While I agree that it'd be nice to have content that'll entertain adults too, adults do enjoy comedy and more lighthearted action adventure too. Why would it need to be gritty and completely serious like Batman? It works for Batman, but that doesn't play to the strengths of the franchise I'd say. Just saying, remember Jackie Chan? Comedy and action can fit like a glove, and humor has always been a big part of this series.

It doesn't need to be, but I would like it more if it was more dark and gritty to some degree, but if it it like the tone of The Winter Solider or Avengers that would be just as fine. I would just enjoy it more if it was a more dark and gritty power rangers.
