Or ar you referring to the supposedly "smarter brother" who was stupid enough to allow WMD's and psychopathic death worshipping extraterrestrials to be housed within the Necropolis?

Either way, post Hickman, T'Challa remains one of the only characters who can be blatantly written out of character, perrenially chumped out and otherwise diminished and still have a cadre of readers satisfied with his portrayal as long as they get to see him on a regular basis.

I can easily see him having an issue with it.

Priest/Hudlin T'Challa would definitely have an issue with tampering with timelines.

Hickman T'Challa would have ZERO problem doing that as proven at the close of Secret Wars II.

T'Challa has always had a level of unease when it comes to men playing at being more than they were. He got involved with the Illuminati because he had no choice, he was always uncomfortable with the things they were doing. He even hesitated when he saw the infinity gauntlet that Strange left him.

A T'Challa written true to character would never have joined up with the Illuminati in the first place or even done so without having his own overarching agenda in play to counteract any unpleasant fallout from associating with the aforementioned group.

Hickman's T'Challa lacked any of the nuance that most readers familiar with his mannerisms, would have expected to see on page but in the current climate where tone deaf and hollow characterization is all the rage amongst some writers and the less discerning readers that lap up their works, this shouldn't come as a suprise to anyone.

The clip started off with a car chase featuring a motorcycle and a black Audi SUV. The chase involved Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Falcon (Anthony Mackie). They pursued each other through a tunnel, which became engulfed in explosions generated by the skirmish. Eventually, the characters emerged from the tunnel, only to be met by War Machine (Don Cheadle). It appeared as though he was on the scene to detain Captain America. "Stand down now," War Machine angrily told the captain. "Congratulations, Cap, you’re a criminal.” Black Panther then intervened, baring his metal claws and ripping off his mask to reveal his identity.

Interesting catch. There was a scene description describing Panther and Black Widow taking Falcon and Captain America to be disciplined, so maybe they have a fight during the inevitable escape.

See you fucked up, bro. I stopped reading all of Marvel after they decided to kill off a whole nation of African people except for T'Challa. I was done. I missed those two events (AvX2? and Secret Wars). Just came back cuz I heard there was a reset. Been reading the Ultimates and now I'm about to get that new Tanehisi Coates' BP. I'm cool now.

And while I'm curious to understand the whole Secret Wars thing, I'm not going to do it to myself. Hickman's T'Challa was ****. His treatment of Wakanda and it's people was terrible. HE did have a couple of good quotes though!

Business model wise, this makes perfect sense.

Slowly phase out the expensive stars while boosting up the profile of the new guys (in this case, T'challa and Bucky) who are on cheaper contracts and build the next phase with them.

If sales start to decline... bring the big bags of money out, and here comes "THE RETURN OF CAP" or "THE RETURN OF STARK!" in the movies, instant sales boost.
