It's not a good look. Why would marvel comics approve that knowing what coates is doing? I was even beginning to warm up to the relationship but if they're gonna pull thot stunts like this, they should dead it. There's no benefit in baggage.

I figured out the problem with Mr Coates
(Harsh Lesson please take notes while you are lurking)
Black Cosplay!!!
Super heroes and their villains are generally self portraits of their creators... This is why you can sort of tell the difference between the comic like behavior of Stan Lee's influence versus the gritty Jack Kirby style!
The problem with a whole lot of black men in general is that subconscious fear of full blown cosplay!
Sometimes brothas are just too cool to don the spandex and primary colored billowy cape like the random white guys at Comic-con do as an afterthought!
In the "Escapism" world of make believe you live vicariously through the characters you favor and on paper Coates is running from that action concerning King T'challa!
The problems with a lot of black writers and creators is the willingness to venture into the unknown and literally wear the onsie feet pajamas even if it leads to outright mockery from their black intellectual peers!
The next time Coates sits with black intellectual giants like Cornel West or Michale Eric Dyson he should dress up as the Black Panther and let them adjust to him not the other way around!
Coates needs to let go and "BE THE BLACK PANTHER" in real life and his writing skills will set him free to explore greater avenues for T'challa!
White creators of white super heroes don't flinch when they depict their alter egos they just go all in without hesitation like Darth Vader at the Jedi temple!
