Go ahead and enlighten me then. I'll gladly learn from an expert in the field.
Or heck, i'll gladly read any really long article that explains this if you don't to waste your time explaining to a box office newb like myself.
And of course. Domino and Shuri "earned" asking for a film... just like Valkryie, Miles Morales, Bucky, Widow, Fury/SHIELD, x23, and every other supporting character/easter egg the internet loves for a couple months when a film comes out

So, again, another poster who refuses to provide anything to back up what they are saying.
I provided sources to what I said. I am not downplaying the BP movie, simply providing an update because I assumed people may be interested.
The fact we are even having a BP vs IW discussion just proves how damn successful the BP solo is.
That doesn't mean it isn't interesting to compare box office numbers.
And for your second point, slow your roll Kareem. I am not downplaying "minorities." I am downplaying supporting characters. We are discussing Black Panther and his supporting characters tend to be minorities. Context.

I think you are getting some stuff confused. BP hasn't hit a billion domestic (its inching closer and closer to 700 million). In fact, no movie has ever hit a billion dollars domestic. SW: TFA got the closest with 936.Originally Posted by Nate Grey

1. Ok, then you are just wrong lol. IW can't hit 1 billion domestic and neither can BP obviously. It is statistically impossible at this point. It is way behind TFA pace and TFA didn't hit a billion.
2. Actually, yes. It has been a discussion on numerous boards, including this one, if IW could actually beat BP domestically. Many people didn't think it could happen because IW wasn't likely to have the legs and it is facing much stiffer competition (namely DP2 and Solo) than BP did.
And "my point" was just to give a dang Box Office update for movies that both had Black Panther in it lol. Bast have mercy.

Even when I'm agreeing with you you figure out how to turn it into an argument. Should have just left you arguing with the troll.
lol shit quote me correctly next time, can you do that or is that another lol moment for you?
And since you have problems with billion fine, before IW leaves the box office it will make more than BP (assuming again Solo doesn't throw a wrench in that).
Seems foolish since one's a team movie and the other isn't, but then again one was an event and even with all those characters in it, the other isn't. Either way great [incidental] competition for one another.2. Actually, yes. It has been a discussion on numerous boards, including this one, if IW could actually beat BP domestically. I thought the point was to throw a turd in the punch bowl like, ironically, the person you were arguing with. Bast have mercy and also proofreading skills. And "my point" was just to give a dang Box Office update for movies that both had Black Panther in it lol. Bast have mercy.
It rather depends on how you count it. In terms of raw totals, IW is outpacing BP, but both the weekly and weekend counts give Panther the nod:

Basically, it's starting to look like BP has better legs.
(Not that it actually matters. One could argue IW is doing well partly BECAUSE of the large Wakandan presence. In a way, it's BP 1.5. )
"We live in a world of cowards. We live in a world full of small minds who are afraid. We are ruled by those who refuse to risk anything of their own. Who guard their over bloated paucities of power with money. With false reasoning. With measured hesitance. With prideful, recalcitrant inaction. With hateful invective. With weapons. F@#K these selfish fools and their prevailing world order." Tony Stark
I strongly suspect the reason that BP has better "legs" BTW, is the rewatch factor. Given the emotional gutpunches in IW, I can't imagine many people wanting to see it more than once. OTOH, Panther is the first movie I watched a second time in the theatre since TFA.
